Glad to see this mold being used again. I loved the original CM's toy.
Cm's molds have been pretty spread throughout several toy companies. I wonder if someone will make the Dancouga Nova?

Yeah, the fact that this one is going to have accurate (or at least, more screen accurate) colors was enough to make me preorder it. I don't even have the original cm's goshogun, so it is a nice chance for me to see how good this figure is. I'll probably get the old one too someday. And display the two side by side, as a "chrome and anime-color" set

I think the only criticism I have for this figure is how the feet are sculpted. Instead of giving the figure ankle tilts, the feet are shaped for standing in a natural A stance which makes posing in other positions looking a bit unnatural. The ES Gokin also has this issue, but fortunately, the Sentinel version seem to come with ankle tilts.

This lists all the improvements over the original: www.anime-export.com/product/29212The second entry in the Marusan Dica-Model line-up is a new and improved version of the Brave Gohkin Goshogun!! 18 cm tall, full action. The improvement from the old version are the following: - Better hip joint articulation - Sword and axes blades has been enlarged by about 25% of the previous size - The bottom of the head horn as been enlarged to avoid breaks that were common on the old CMs model - The box has been enlarged to accomodate the toy in a better that the old one was, in order to avoid scratches on the toy. Made by ABS, PVC and die-cast metal. The 3 aircrafts King Arrow, Jack Knight and Queen Rose are included. Also the toy comes with 2 different Go Sticks (short and long), Battle Clash Go Flasher for both sides and Wrist Stick for both sides. By Marusan.

I just saw an anime colored CMS Baldios last weekend, and I thought the color really popped! I really liked that version's color compared to the original release, and feel the same towards this version of Goshogun as well.
EDIT: I like that Marusan is not only doing straight re-release, but also improvements on the figure as well. A friend of mine told me they also improved the structures on their release of Gordian, can anyone confirm?

So, this figure has just arrived over here in Italy, even the copy I pre-ordered. Guess I'll take it home in a matter of days. I'll do a review then, even though I won't be able to compare it to the old CM's version since I don't own that one.
Has anyone else received their copy yet?

I read the review on CollectionDX...while I love the toy and have the original Brave Gokin release, I'll just hold off on a reissue (with some tweaks). Fine toy though. The original Takataoku GoShogun was originally a grail toy for me and this mech will always have a special place in my mind.

I also read the CollectionDX review and was fascinated to find this was not just a straight reissue, but with improvement on the figure's poseability and increase of the weaponry's size! Interesting!

I just read that review too. Man, I can't wait to get mine, looks like an awesome chogokin. And I think I read somewhere that, in fact, this was one of CM's better releases. Cool. I also love that vintage tray layout

guys what happen to Aoshima CM Grendizer ? thats what need a remake and fix I don't think anybody is going to be in a rush to re-manufacture the designs of a failed company for fairly common and over saturated subjects like the Mazingers, Grendizer or the Getters. Bandai mainly has those subjects locked up with current sytate of the art stuff. And what they don't have, several other merchants are already producing. There really is no market space for the old tooling. The value in the older molds and dies from CM's. Yamato etc is in the more obscure subjects that are unlikely to be touched by another company anytime soon. There is a high margin to be made there as current owners didn't have to foot design and development costs for the tooling, and instead acquired it for pennies on the dollar. So a small niche market can easily support it and turn a profit.

hmmm Goshogun was announced way after Aoshima showed their CM Grendizer (we actually have a thread of that) and it got to production first ! CM Grendizer had ideas even Bandai didnt think of, the fact that you can put Grendizer in the spazer without making the legs shorter or remove any parts alone is awesome, but those awful QCs killed it broken parts, unmatched paint and poor quality over all, so imagine with me if Aoshima fixed all that and improved the sculpt a bit would people buy ? for sure they will, the figure already have all of the successful factors it just need better planing, and maybe if they add the other spazers it will be by far the best Grendizer ever made from what i know most of the CM staff went to ET

Aoshima might improve and fix any and all issues and come up with the best Grendizer ever. But the problem is what is the return? The market is saturated with Grendizer variants. Bandai, Fewture, ET, HLPro, etc there are tons of Grendy variants already on shelves. That shrinks the market space. The most hardcore dedicated collector will by the best. But even among them (us) a substantial portion of otherwise guaranteed purchasers will shrug it off as one to many and will point their dollars elsewhere. "you don't have to collapse the legs in this one" is great for first time purchasers. But among a population that already has 4 or 5 of the collapsing leg variety? Establishing the need for a new is a higher hurdle.
