I'm looking forward to this. The only thing that worries me a little is what it will cost. Voltron, Daizyujin, Mazinkaiser even Choryujin draw from either the more modern nostalgic canvases, or from the deep recesses of evergreen classics. As such the subject will support the ever escalating prices. But Gordion is a little obscure for a $300 robot.

doesnt this have the same gimmick as baikanfu? Forget the same Gimmick. The original Machine Robo Baikanfu toy was simply a recolor/rerelease of the DX Gordion.

really? i didnt know that. so why did bandai release it first?was baikanfu more popular? Certainly more modern. The main Baikanfu pilot was the lead protagonist of Machine Robo. Gordion kinda falls into that nostalgic dead space from the very late 70's to very early 80's that is largely dominated by the rise of the Real Robots such as Gundam and Macross. So Baikanfu was likely viewed as better known and more popular. Plus it's Bandai. One of the designers might have still been using his Machine Robo bedsheets. Or what he had for lunch could have been a decision point. Also it might be something really really simple. Machine Robo was created by Bandai's Popy subsidiary. So Bandai owns the Machine Robo characters and designs outright. No licensing needed. Whereas Gordion needs a license.

Speaking of Bandai/Popy and Machine Robo, didn't a Sentai mecha get retooled for the Machine Robo twice? Cannot exactly remember which one that became Trailer Robo I believe the first one was called?

Yes it was trailer robo. The original was the Flash Titan from Chousensi Flashman
