Wow...I skipped on combattler dx as I had the soc version. Would most likely get this one as it is one of the shows I watched on a regular basis when I was a kid.

Why can't Bandai do this one? Licensing issues or is it something they will eventually make? Oh and it's small at 7"!

Yah bummer for me is the height. ...and the price. I would love to have a Mechander gokin. I just don't know if Evolution Toys is the right one for me. Not that confident in their quality, and the price is really high, while the size is really small. The whole thing doesn't feel right, even though it looks good.

I explained this in another thread in some detail, but here's the quick summary. Bandai, or rather the parent corporation Bandai Namco owns all or part of Sunrise, Toei, Tsubaraya, and have substantial investments in a number of other larger studios. As an example Bandai are the ones that invested in Toei originally and gave them the money to make Mazinger Z. (Remember Japan never had the US laws seperating TV production from toys. So paying for TV shows was good toy business!) What this means is Bandai has a direct in house access to a deep deep pool of many if not most of the most popular robot IP's. There is no external licensing. It's all in house between divisions. Mazinger, Gundam, etc. They are also the big enough player such that when they do step outside of the IP's that they own or control a piece of, they go big and can pick and choose from the best of the best. The A list stuff. The current popular stuff. The stuff that will bring the greatest return. If you look at the product catalogs of the late lamented gokin makers CM's and Yamato, and Arcadia these days, you will see that the bulk of their stuff is from the smaller production houses that Bandai does not have any investment or interest in. The B listers and below. Add to this that many of these more obscure subjects were shows or IP's that were in direct competition with shows that Bandai was funding or producing. For example Astroganger was a direct compete in the marketspace to Mazinger Z. So Astroganger toys would be seen as directly competing with their own property. Yeah not so much anymore as age makes them complimentary, but the stigma still remains attached. Mechander Robo is a well remembered but obscure show, from a studio that is long since history, and with a likely convoluted set of IP rights or ownership. Yes a license could probably be had for a song. But it's not the sort of thing a larger player like Bandai would ever go after. They don't need to. Like I said if you want to see what robots more often than not fall into this type of category, look at CM's and Yamato's back catalog, paying attention to things that aren't Macross. It's not just a matter of "This is a cool old robot that we love, Bandai please make this!" There are often backroom business reasons behind what gets made.

I guess this is a must buy for me at this point. Now, what is 'Evolution Toy' in relation to 'Dynamite Action'? ET = Bandai ?? DA = SoC ??

lol, im sure ET fan boys will be pissed at you guys for me its a pass i have alot of things to get Are there actual ET Fanboys? I mean most I have encounter like some of the more obscure subjects they do... they just wish someone else was doing them. And preferably using actual die cast and better pricing. This one at least "Uses Many Diecast!" (Especially in the Brest!)

IMHO, CM's version looks way better, only problem with that is the missing diecast Hopefully somebody will pick-up that mold and do a gokin version.

IMHO, CM's version looks way better, only problem with that is the missing diecast Hopefully somebody will pick-up that mold and do a gokin version. Thought the old CMs was total garbage. But you know what? This ET version actually looks suspiciously almost exactly like the old CMs DX. Same 180mm height and almost exactly the same promo pics. You don't supposed ET just won/bought the old CMs DX mould and just added "Many Diecast!!", especially on the Brest, reuse old CMs promo-pics/box-art, and are ingeniously trying to hoodwinked everybody by trying to scalp it at almost 38k-yen. I will laugh even moar harder...

(Especially in the Brest!) yes there is they are like Toynami fanboys lol and you are right, they want that character to be available in this modern time, but that doesn't mean we should accept the not so good quality ET is offering, i wont support that also the pricing is very high for what you get
