Does the Metal Build line has pretty high diecast content in general? I only have the Gundam Origin ver. RX-78. Not sure about the newer ones. I think its a good move not putting this in the SOC line. Just sounds tiresome when you have a Mazinger as GX-70, 70D, 73, 75, as well as all the recent SRCs are also...let me guess...Mazingers? (Emperor, Zero, Great Mazinkaiser). As cool as the toys are, having all these releases within a year or so is pretty ridiculous on paper. metal builds has around the same diecast content as the Metal composite Gundam rx78-2 Origin. Most of the diecast is in the frame work with plastic armor over it.

This is a neat way to cross over into another one of Bandai's gokin toy lines...and given the more mecha-like look of this iteration, it would make sense. Personally, I would've preferred Super Robots staying in the SoC line though and Real Robots out. So, it would've made more sense for me if Gipsy Danger was a Metal Build and this Mazinger was an SoC.

I think the side horns look a little too big but otherwise this is an interesting modern take on Mazinger that I just might have to pick up! If the head looked more like it does in the line-art I would even happier.

This will go absolutely perfect with my Sentinel Mazinkaiser! this picture alone where mazinger z is kneel sold me, such a great level of articulation. i also notice that the jet scrander wing's have a hinge to flip them up for its undeploy mode which makes it even better. who would have thought this is how mazinger z would look like after 10 years after defeating dr. hell. truly he got upgraded. i hope they add the jet pilder as well for its accesories if it comes with any, im not to familiar with the metal builds but surely this would be a good entry for me to that line. for those that have metal builds, is that line any good and if its worth it?

Its THE top premier "toy/figure" line for Gundam. Most of skeleton is a solid metal. Crap Ton of accessory with Over engineered base.
One thing i HATE about this line is that it has zero clickies....never had it...its almost as bad as Takara Tomys hatred towards diecast... BUT seeing as this IS a crossover AND it did now FINALLY introduced LED gimmick on upcoming Qan(T)due to pressures from knockoffs, MAYBE just maybe there will be some change for good. Like some diecast on external AND clickiy knee joints?
And Oh yeah, its worth the entrance fee. Its the top of the line... Therere Benz's AMGs and BMWs Ms...then there is Porche 911 Turbo.

I love me some clickies though. And diecast joint while great when they are defect-free, they are very hard to fix if it came loose from the factory. But I'll get this pretty sure regardless.

Oh yeah, most definately.
For around $40 i highly recommend A.N.I.M.E. Robot Tamashii..all plastic but it comes with everything... Super posable it looks like it poped out of my TV... but its ALL plastic....albeit super high quality plastic. Really nice clean packaging with no styro. Very clean figure with minimal PVC.
For around $120 (when i got mine years ago..)you can get the grandfather of Metal Build....The GFFC Metal Composite RX. Ton of metal. Bit stylized compared to ANIME, smaller head and larger hands and maybe larger feet...also bit lankier then the source? If like styro, youre in luck...teehee. And No clickies though...Awful trend that was.
