After seeing the video numbninja posted, it swayed me towards the positive side of the fence. While it is not quite Riobot level of engineering, there are some cool stuff in there. It is almost like an early stage of riobot engineering, but without the intricate sliding panels and hidden joint mechanics. The shield gimmick (activiate with a twist) is especially impressive. While not 100% onboard on the sculpt still, seeing it in action and from multiple angles in the video does make the 'lego' shapes less jarring.

Yeah. From Toysdaily, when a guy put in his preorder at his local shop in HK, the shop warned him that this Mekander is going to be much lighter and less diecast than their previous entries after confirmed by manufacturer, if that is OK with him. While he ordered anyway, it shows signs that this is indeed going to be lightweight. 500g including packaging is pretty light (says on the Blitzway site). And maybe this is another case of non-Japan based company (Blitzway is from HK I think, could be wrong), with the price on their official site and BBTS much cheaper than shops in Japan, whom have to import this for once and sell at a higher yen price. Though what I am not sure of is the relationship between Blitzway and 5Pro. If Blitzway is just a publisher partnership, or do they actually own 5Pro. If I remember correctly, it is only until a more recent SDCC where the two brands bundled together in the Blitzway booth showing off the Getters. Blitzway itself is a 1/6 figure company and doesn't touch robots much. And 5Pro used to be on their own with the Carbotix line. Was contemplating getting this figure (Mekanda is somewhat popular locally), until I saw this. Yikes. At 500 Grams, that's light. Passing on this now. Thanks for the headsup on this Mpchi. Gold

A bit off topic but I remember Carbotix also wanting to do a Raijin-Oh.
I was wondering if they are still wanting to go through with it still.

Looks solid and good size. Though I miss the awesome paintjob that Carbotix usually gives you. This Mekanda looks like just have a standard semi-gloss paintjob.

Joints look great. Love the blister packaging.
Not crazy about the redesign. ( Lost all the charm of the original robot design. IMHO)
Zero exterial metal is a really really terrible idea...especially for this line.
On top of that, the thing differentiate Carbotix from other highend figures is Carbon as material..what happened?
This should have been in a completely seperate line...
This is like Gypsy Danger in SOC line.....(but atleast Gypsy had some outside metal and it had LED gimmick...AND it was source accurate.)

Videos helped and that English translation 👍🏽. The manual showing metal helps out as well. So it’s not totally plastic, external all plastic yes.
Design looks like legos stacked up but I’m good with it. Maybe because I don’t have modern version in my collection. The appearance isn’t as radical as I’ve seen from other companies that almost make mecha look like monsters.
The different tone of paint is little bothersome. With that being said I’m still buying it. 😛

Was it mentioned somewhere if the head can be shifted down through the neck? Only thing that looks off to me is the slightly long neck

Just opened my copy and did my normal tinkering with it. Won’t go into every minute detail like my buddy GGG 😊 but will list it out.
-As expected no cold diecast feeling. Not a complete Metal inner frame -LIGHTweight as expected dude not even full pound with sword and two shields attached! -just under 10 inches tall and fits very well with my collection -very good articulation and cool action poses -Isn’t a floppy mess BUT no ratcheting clickie joints like GGG likes. 😛 -worried about the antenna fins breaking -accessories,effects, fists etc are easy to attach and remove -nothing broke on me Overall I’m happy with it and glad it wasn’t $300-$500 piece!

I don’t think it’s reissue I just think that’s just some vendors or USA getting their delayed stock in.
