My expectations weren't that high for this one given the fact it separates in multiple pieces. Either poseability or aesthetics will be compromised. One could hope though that both can be accomplished and have the figure stable while in combined form.

I think that since MP was able to have made a Dairugger XV that was incredible on both poseability and aesthetics, then BanDai shouldn't have any problems at all in doing so, either. And, MP was able to do it almost 10 years ago with much less experience and resources than BanDai. I still have fairly high expectations of this product being amazing and a wonderful complement to GX-71. I am hoping they are both the same height, which I don't feel is a guarantee.

Reminds me a lot of the original's proportions. Also i think the brighter shins and darker thighs of the prototype are making the legs seem bigger than they would in proper colours.
Lion Voltron also looked a little off until we all had him in hand; these large toys can look quite different depending on the angles. Can't wait to see more!

I've always felt that robot toys look their best during their prototype/gray primer photographs. And lose some of the Wow factor once we see the painted versions. This happens a lot with me after seeing final painted versions of 3P Transformers.
In my opinion, I am not wowed by GX-88 and kinda of glad I kept my MA-01 Vehicle Voltron. That being said, the individual vehicles still look great and so do the combined team modes. GX-88 doesn't look bad in robot mode, but I am not amazed either. I'll still be getting it because I'm still a fan.

I don't have the MP Dairugger/Voltron but from the photos I've seen, it looks wonky when posed. It doesn't look as good as the SOC Lionbots.

At this point I truly believe that Bandai's solution to releases that they feel may be looked at as not up to snuff is to just brand it as a new Soul of Chogokin Sub-line.

I’m sorry but this looks like sh*t. Feel free to tear me apart. Lol I was expecting to display my MA-01 in vehicle mode around my sexy SOC DAIRUGGER....looks like it will be the other way around. I hope to eat crow when this set is released though

come on guys this is an early production unit, just give it time. most of the proportion will be better when they paint it
i like the amount of diecast they gave it, the fists could be better and im not sure about the articulatio,
still on my watch list

Hopefully thats the case. The proportions are off with this one. I see no GX-71-like ab extension hidden gimmick that will save it haha Maybe theres a suprise where can Un-extend the arm or something like that hehe.. The head are small too.. short thighs.. big shins

I think one thing that should be noted is the fact that this does seem to be the start of (yet another) SOC sub line. With the terms "spirits" involved it seems to elude to taking cues from past items so this may be the start of an updated Popy/Godaiken styled line for them because if you look at the general look and articulation points on this one it really does seem to step back into the 70s or 80s.
Certainly not making excuses as I'm not a fan of it aesthetically but if it turns out that it's the actual styling of this line then it does have to be taken into account.

Oh no. it would be the opposite of SOC D.C. Bandai messing the SOC line again.

If that is the case,I would not mind Sentai and Brave Series mecha to be part of this sub-line. After all,the bar is not set as high as some of the past SoC releases.

I need to see it in dynamic pose fully painted. But I do see what bros are saying about the proportion...
I love the metal count though. Damn that's sexy.
If its priced around Voltron, then Bandai probably has my wallet.

I see some issues, but not really as bad as some think. The pose and angle didn't help, and there might be fitment issues on the prototype too as the arms seem sagging on the shoulder. Not too worried here, but I do hope it gets better with improvements later on before release. Though I am getting one regardless.
