Go for it. Its a little on the light side, but it looks good on the shelf and is a good size.

It says a lot to me that these figures are so good that I'm a bit salty my Lightan comes tomorrow instead of today.

One appeal/set-back about this Lightan is the creative freedom POSE+ took to not follow the traditional Lightan transformation sequence. On one hand, it let them have more room to push the proportion further for better aesthetics, but also a set-back for folks that appreciate the traditional transformation sequence (since it was simple and very memorable in the anime, and being replicated by almost all the classic toys and SOC). Regardless which camp you are on, this sure is the best looking Lightan gokin currently.

Are people really that fussed about transformation sequences? Asking honestly because that's pretty interesting. I'd never thought about it. I guess I started with Transformers and was always used to 5 different Optimus toys using 5 different methods to turn into the same thing that I figured it was a norm but of of course every community is different.

Gold Lightan is a different animal. A lot of Asian 40-year-old grew up watching the anime as one of their first exposure of a fully transforming robot hero without much anime magic, and to a gold lighter to boot that for the fortunate kids, managed to bring these shiny metal lighters to school to share/show-off to peers. The transformation is part of that memory, both in the show and in the toys back then, not just the character itself.

Yeah I remember the transformation sequence from the cartoons quite vividly so I can see why it may impact some old school die hard fans.

I bet if the shows I grew up with had consistent transformation sequences vs garbled magic from one form to another I'd be able to empathize more. There are things like Golion that I've always been familiar with but it's such a simple, straightforward combination that it makes 0 sense for a toy to make it combine any other way. Appreciate the perspective and are you asian btw? Asking because it'd be cool to know who to turn to for more diverse perspectives in general on here.

Mid 40s Chinese here, grew up with quite a bit of anime and learned some Japanese through manga and import games when young. Quite a few members here are Asian as well, from what I can tell.

That's awesome, Mpchi.
Circling back to the figure; did anyone else get this? If so, thoughts? If not, why not?

It somehow seems weird seeing a Gold Lightan that's that big. I'm so used to him always being the more traditional lighter size.
