Dear esteemed and respected members, It's that time.... as an awesome member of “the Academy," please select YOUR one toy you OWN that's RELEASED this year to be RJ TOTY 2021 from the listed 20 on the poll. The poll can stay open until GX 100 is fairly judged by our esteemed colleagues. We will allow the late entry GX 100 to have ample time to be handled.

Hm. I only have one this year.
DX VF-1D Valkyrie
Love the DX mold in general, and I'm still psyched to finally have a 1D that's arguably in the lineage of the chunky monkey. Bare metal gear ftw.

Shoot there are a few things I ordered but haven't received yet, like POSE GGG and GX-100 coming end of month. I'll have to wait until January to weigh in. There were a lot of awesome figures this year- lemme collect my thoughts and come back later.

I appreciate how confident people here are in GX-100, even though the figure is not yet released.

Ok I just checked my Excel sheet, and I make my rank only mecha-based so: 1) Gurren Lagann CSS Toys: I'm not a fan of stylized figures, but this guy rocks. Great articulation, all the accesories, a lot of die cast, even the package is gorgeous. I don't have it but still think the konami one is the best GL out there just because its the most screen accurate, but this one comes a close second. It is beautifully painted in a gorgeous red that makes it shine next to any figure, plus all the cool poses and a drill that can pierce the heavens! 2) Rayearth Riobot: a close second. great articulation, except the skirt, with a killer look. It looks gorgeous with the fire effects attached. Too bad it seems they wont be releasing Seles and Windam 3) Getter Go GX96 SOC: Three ships that combine in three different ways. Not a normal release. I'd like to highlight how clean it looks once you combine it with only very small parts added, thats what in my opinion makes it stand out. Honorable mention Zaku II High Mobility Tri Stars GFFMC: Ok, this may be cheating since I voted for the Char's Zaku II when they released it, but this release takes it to a new level. The new sculpt on the legs is great, and the absurd amount of weapons and customization pieces makes this one a very fresh take on the figure. The only bad thing is that now I want two more to complete the set (or at least do me a favor bandai and release the Tri stars Zaku I you showed on TN2020, so I can complete the trio with triple dipping).

I appreciate how confident people here are in GX-100, even though the figure is not yet released. Is released in hk already. Also, after all the videos preview, and how it looks and feel; plus the level of detail on everything for this release ( from the toys to the box) also size, poseability.... Everything Is perfect

1. GX-100 Daikumaryu - Just too big of an event to be ignored, and something many of us had only dreamt of happening since collecting. 2. POSE+ GaoGaiGar - Style, details, finish, engineering, size. This one has it all. 3. CCS Toys Mazinger Zero - Regardless mine got a broken neck, this toy did a lot of things right. Looks awesome, big size, heavy and sturdy. It would have won the "best gokin for the buck" award this year hands down, at $250 shipped.

Too much noise on the design, too many liberties, panels and stuff. I really love the simple and streamlined SOC version of gaogaigar...

Which also means I need to spend money on both. While I got double the enjoyment, you get to double the savings.
