Its an anniversary figure, ultraman is a great classic S, it deserve it (besides it is huge in japan). I'm really happy they decided to go with this one (I want boss and daiohja but this one is good to)

i totally understand your point, and i have great memories of King Joe
the thing is the figure didn't make it to the final cut, yet we see an R version for it before some of the 15, so whats the point of saying those are the final 15 who will get a reissue or an R version but hey lets do a figure from the early result lol doesn't make any sense for me
what im trying to say i was expecting something else not King Joe

I dig the color changes. Definitely getting this. King Joe’s not terribly solid in evil robot mode (maybe something they’ll change for this release?), and functionally it has almost no poseability, but it’s a fun and charming piece just the same. Easily one of my favorite SOCs. I'm glad it's getting another release.

Got a question about this release. How does it scale with the SHF Ultraman figures?

Got a question about this release. How does it scale with the SHF Ultraman figures? Not tall enough for the official numbers, a little too tall compared to Seven if you go by screen appearance in the original episodes, and just right if you want to split the difference and have him tower over Seven by a menacing 1.2 cm.

While it's under the SOC label, this is a figure that transcends the line. The target for this isn't the usual SOC collector, but rather the Ultraman fan. Bandai clearly wanted to celebrate Ultraseven across multiple lines, not just the S.H.Figuarts line.

That doesn't sound too bad, with he is just 1.2cm taller than SHF Seven.I wonder if it was trying to scale with the UltraAct line back then. I believe those were a tad taller, and they were the predecessor of today's SHF Ultraman releases. But I don't know them and their release dates well enough to be sure.

Reason I asked is coz they also announced this Here, did a screencap on Wotafa's review. You can see the size difference. From the GX-37R promo photo, it looks like the R has a more warm/copper on the paintjob, less gold/yellow than the original release, with some two-tone treatment on certain parts. If it is priced very reasonable, I might consider picking up one. I personally waiting for the SHF Shinkocchou Ultraseven (if it ever happens). They just did the original Ultraman (type-C). If they are making another classic, Ultraseven would likely be next.

I think they look good together, not accurate but they can live with each other. Really tempted with that Seven (I did not get the OG Shinkocchou, but because I'm happy with the 50th anniversary edition set, I'd rather not double dip a character)

i think they should celebrate Daimos his 44th anniversary is this year
but you know if they did the version of King Joe that was in Ultraman Kids i would go for it LOL, im sure you remember it

Not that big a surprise when you consider how popular Ultraseven is, even among other Ultras. They were always going to roll out the red carpet for his anniversary. In comparison Daimos isn't even in the same solar system.

WOW Tiffermore that’s awesome. And I here just thought the photo was really cool.
I got both og and blk version myself. I def pick one up to complete the trio if he goes on sale. Having SAID that~ I DO say Bandai SHOULD have taken this opportunity to do more “R”ealistic version” of this character in a new SOC. ……….(Who am I kidding.. that will take real effort. Besides, Bandai and it’s self congratulatory commemorating it’s own toy heritage won’t let it. Maybe it could happen 20 years from now when all “the gen old” upper management died off.)
