Hi folks
I received last Friday my latest SOC, 08-09-11-12 Mazinger Girl
All my SOC are opened from box and displayed, but I make sure that they stay in "new" condition. For example, Grendizer I don't use the part for lunching the punch, so I'm not using the spring. Same thing for Mazinger, the part is empty on his belly (you can see the yellow opening) so that way I'm not using the spring.
That with the girls, 3 of the 4 have breast missile. For the moment they are not on the figure, because I don't want to use the spring. But, since women have breast, I find it quite ugly to let it that way.
Do you think I should put back on the breast, as it will not damage the spring, or should I let that way to preserve the spring?
Your opinions are welcome and sorry for my bad English.

Wow. I think you're missing out if you're going so far as to leave the Mazinger stomach piece off or the girls' firing breasts. You wouldn't be able to display the mazingers with their rocket punch variations like that either. Buy extras if you need perfect ones for yourself- if you're only worried about selling on ebay there's no need to go to that extreme. (I understand the feelings that make you do that- I kept away from the SOP Yamato before because it has lots of parts on runners. You'll enjoy the stuff more if you can get over that, though. I've found that even pretty heavily used SOCs aren't that hard to sell for a decent amount of money, but if you're enjoying them a lot then there's really no need to sell)

The longest I kept something "mint" was my GX-02R - something on the order of 18 months. Then one day I looked over at my Mazinger collection and said: "you look stupid with a hole in your belly." So I finally snipped the little blue pentagon cover from the sprue, shaved it cleanly with a knife and then plugged in the hole. After 18 months, I suddenly realized that I like him so much better that way. To be realistic - I don't think I will EVER sell my SoC collection. So, keeping them mint is more a matter of taste: I want them to look perfect on my shelf. The springs? I don't worry - as long as they work okay. For example, Aoshima's Mazinkaiser has rocket-punch arms too... but they never worked right even when they were new.

In fact I don't think I will ever sell them.
So thanks for your info, I will the pieces back on and achieve a better display status.
I want to keep the mint condition, but I mostly wish not to damage the toy.
For Mazinger punch I don't worry because the way I display it I don't need to use the springs, but girls without boobs, it's ugly.
Thanks again pals

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about the springs either. I have a near 30 year old voltes V that still has good springs even after it been played with.
