Chen, there are a bunch of spots in the opening where you can get a good view of Mazinger Z's face. Right when the hover pilder is docking at the beginning, or right when it's detaching at the end, and especially right as it fires the photon beams from its eyes. Anyway, I'm positive it was official bandai material I read that said they designed the face to look like in the first opening. The jet scrander definitely is the late version though. That's one thing that kinda makes me want a gx-01- I'd like to have a SOC that has the original jet scrander. Similarly I'd like a gx-02 just for its great booster.

Ataru- Yeah, now that I look through the SOC book I can see some different head prototypes for GX-01 including a head very similar to GX-01R. I still like GX-01R alot better than GX-01, but I just bought GX-01 because it was the first SOC and it does come with a different Jet Scramble too. Same thing with GX-02, I much prefer GX-02R but GX-02 does come with a different Great Booster that will fit both Great Maz's (unlike GX-01's Jet Scrander that won't fit GX-01R).
CHOGOv9 - I don't know what the chances are of Bandai making a Sentai SOC. I'm not an expert on Sentai stuff but don't they usually have a new robot design every new tv season? If they did one I'm sure it would be the most iconic Sentai robot but I have no idea which one that is.

Yeah, the thing about the great booster was that it was designed to be a superior wing to the scramble dash for general use, but in actuality it was used as a 1 shot weapon, flown into the enemy with that big spike. Putting that aside though, I'd still prefer the gx-02 version because that's the way it looks before launching, and I like to display Great Mazinger with the scramble dash, leaving the great booster on the launch rail. It's too bad Bandai couldn't work some magic like they did with the jet scrander, so you could have both forms in one.

I know I mentioned this before, but from reivews I read, most SOCs can swap arms via magnets.Does this mean that you can give GX-10's(Boss Borot's) arms to GX-01's and vice versa?P.S. this is because i don;t have GX-10,just GX-01R and GX-10.Can the Aoshima and/or Maxgokin lines do that?Would you consider this as a fun gimmick?

Yeah, you can do that, CHOGOv9. Simply swapping arms doesn't do much for me usually, but it's nice sometimes. For example, the upgraded rocket punch made for the gx-01 that comes with the base can be used with the gx-01r. You can use the damaged arm parts from Tetsujin on any of the other many compatible socs and have it look good.
If you like swapping arms on SOCs, you should try to get the assorted Getters- they're the kings of part swapping in the SOC line.

On to the topic of posability.Sometimes if you want your figure to be really, really posable, you would have to sometimes sacrifice really good designs(e. screws and metal joints). However two toys in my opinion that fixed posability issues are the Aoshima New Getter and GX-24 Tetsujin 28-go.Aoshima because it perfected the retractable arm joint, fixed the design of thigh joints, and Tetsujin 28,mostly because of the addition of the retractable crotch joint, which makes posing and balancing better and is sort of a milestone for gokin toys.

It's too bad that New Getter ended up with gorilla-like overly long arms. Not necessarily related to the joints.

I'm not really the best person to ask on that, but I think they're fine if you like the characters. I think SOC versions would be much better, although almost certainly lighter, but I really don't think these characters will ever get SOCs.

Well about that, would you recommend buying the Aoshima Shin Getter or New Getter? The New Getter looks better IMHO, but the quality of Shin Getter is way better. The new figure just doesn't have the paint quality of Shin plus it has that elbow joint like Mazinkaiser which isn't the greatest design.
