So what I'm getting from the reviews is a steller SOC Gaiking. but I'm a little miffed that they didn't make time for a clear plastic Electron Chain or the Hydro Blaser! Hell the HB could have been a clear ball of plastic. But alas things that will never be clifton

Yeah heavyarmscustom, I've always wished SOCs would come with effect parts like that. They might make the SOC look kind of cheap, but it's not like you'd have to use them all the time. The way it is, robots that have mostly energy weapons get kind of screwed.

Well heavyarmscustom, sometimes attempting to make the energy attack for a Super Robot doesn't always come out perfect. If they did, usually it would be made out of a transparent, maybe sometimes fragile plastic. Well, they did do that with the Aoshima Neo Getter with its energy bolt attack.I liked it but the plastic they used wasn't transparent, making it;in my opinion;sort of unrealistic.Still I liked that addition.

tamabase.3.pro.tok2.com/toy32.htmlHere's another review from one of my favorite toy review sites. The great thing about this guy's pics is that they show off the toy very beautifully but in a way that lets you get an idea of how it will look in front of you. I can see from these pics that the skull seems to have a bright gloss finish on top of the metallic, and it looks really good. Lots of his pics show off ugly sprue scars on the teeth of the lower jaw though. He's also got the best closeup of the super weapon head I've seen yet. I'm almost psyched up to pre-finding-out-about-the-plastic-legs,-shoulders-and-lower-jaw levels.

I got mine last thrusday.
Its quite an impressive figure within a reasonable $$$ price.
Its got tons of accessories with extra parts to create a more "beefy" gaiking which I prefer over the normal one.
The metal content is not scarce.
Here are the metal parts [which is pretty standard amongst all other SOCs] upper arms, upper body upper legs torso and hips, feet, the upper skull is also surprisingly metal very nice.
gimmicks:
i) three heads: standard, beefy, and one with removable face plates ii) hand drills as well as "rocket punch functions iii) nice display base iv) very cool and anime accurate transformation feature. v) standard SOC multiple hands
The colors are both elegant and subtle.
This piece for some reason reminds me of the gaogaigar max factor die-cast without the premium [probably because of the golden chest face]
I'm very satisfied with this bad boy. I've always wanted a gaiking but couldn't justify spending the cash for a vintage one. And I'm glad I waited for this as this definitely is more beautiful than its vintage counterpart in ALL aspects. IMO
Now I can't wait for Voltes V, the moment this figure gets released I'm going to put my godaikin version up for sale on ebay and buy 2 SOC Voltes V as I'm almost positive It'll be much nicer than the godaikin.

Nice pics! Gaiking fits right in with Grendy and Great Maz. Although I would have thrown in Getter Dragon too, just for a little bit of colour.

Non-powered up Gaiking gets no love! I think powered up gaiking looks a little weird next to those other 3 you have there because of the upper leg to lower leg ratio. I don't think it would be as bad with normal Gaiking though.
Anyway, thanks for the nice pics!

I could post some pics of normal Gaiking for you if you like. It's just that in normal mode his chest looks really large and his arms and legs look skinny. I might try and mix and match the pieces to get a look I like.

I think the powered up mode makes the upper arms and upper legs look ridiculously skinny and weak, kinda like the upper arms on the 1/48 valkyries- that's the main reason I prefer the normal mode. I've love some more pics if you don't mind!
