Yesterday I bought a BPX-01 Space Battleship Yamato. It's fun, but like everyone who commented about the BPX-01, the mostly plastic content is its drawback. It's fun to play with it, though.
Anyway, I'm thinking about purchasing Aoshima's Arcadia. Can someone explain what the difference between the two Arcadias that Aoshima has? One has a big knife sticking out of the bow, and from what I read from one RJ Forum post, it's removable. How's the big knife version compared to the other Arcadia?
Thanks again.

They both have "knives" but one is the regular version and the other one is the Limited Weathered version. There is also a black version that doesn't come with the big knife. Andrewdsz posted a thread with pics in the SOC section about these ships.

Thanks Chen. I'll look it up on RJ Search.
Which Grendizer do you have? GX-04S or just GX-04? I have GX-04, but can't wait for the GX-04S re-issue. I just want to complete the Grendizer set.
You mentiioned about using car wax on your SOCs. Does that affect the paint? What kind of paint is used on SOCs anyway? I have two GX-01R, and I noticed the black paint on both are different. Under bright lights, I noticed the black paint on one GX-01R is a brownish tint while the other is more grayish. It's barely noticeable, except if you shoot the GX-01R with bright flash.

There're 7 versions of acadia. Other than the blade and the paint, They are ALL identical.
1.Normal ver. without blade. 2.Weathering ver. without blade.(Limited to 3000 pieces) 3.Blk ver. without blade.(Limited to 500 pieces) 4.Normal ver. with blade. 5.Weathering ver. with blade.(Limited to 3000 pieces) 6. SHOKAI normal ver. with blade.(Limited to 1500 pieces, ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL with the normal ver. with blade, just some sort of re-issue) 7.KAIWAI SHOKAI(Over-sea) Weathering ver. with blade.(Limited to 1500 pieces, ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL with the weathering ver. with blade)
Among the all BLK arcadia is the rarest one. Japanese Toy Link has it for 200USD but sold out years ago. I've never ever seem it anywhere else in English related websides(including ebay) again. I saw them in Yahoo Japan and Yahoo Taiwan a while ago, with the crazy price around 300USD but right now they just disappeared completely. BTW This piece is the only one with the price 14800yen instead of 12800(with blade) and 12000(without blade) because it cames with a captain herlock metal figure and a kid's figure( I forgot his name, but he is the main character of Galaxy express 999).

I had to buy GX-04 and GX-04X, since these came out before GX-04S. As for car polish I use a super small amount so I don't get the wax all clogged up in the holes and seams. This is just something I do but it's really not necessary. As for what paint is used on SOC's I have no idea, I'm guessing on some kind of durable enamel is used.

I saw the Arcadia above selling for around US$100 in Taiwan. 1,500 pieces, eh? Man, better pick up one.
