Wonderful pics Josh! Gaiking looks most impressive. I can't wait for mine to arrive. (I ordered it from Diamond) Also, the behind the scenes pic was a nice touch. I have to ask, where can I find a photography capsule like the one you use? I've never seen anything like that before.

Great pics Josh. I just looked at the link for the photo tent. Recommended: two 500 watt lights ?? Are you using that much juice? I don't think I've ever seen a 500 watt flood lamp. How could you do that without popping a circuit breaker? JWM

Nah, I use 2- 250w lights, and bump my exposure up in the camera to +3
Its called a light tent, or light cube, and can be had for about 40-50 on ebay.

Excellent pics Josh. I prefer the regular mode over the angry oil barrel mode. I'll drop by the local shops today and see if one is available.

Very nice pictures. I like them more than the toy! ;D Especially how it looks like Gaiking and Getter Dragun have had a quarrel.

Just a little FYI, Gaiking's horns are double jointed. They swivel at the base and at the second segment from the top.

My 2 came from HLJ. Opened the first and it had a chip on the skull right above the right tooth. Was pretty disappointing. Opened the second and it had some minor issues but nothing as bad as the chip. Had lots of dust under the paint and such with my Daikuumaryuu too- maybe there's some kind of curse affiliated with Gaiking. Anyway, I had the backup so it's ok, but this whole thing has still left me feeling kinda bad and pretty much soured the experience. Part of what's frustrating is that the chipped skull is perfect everywhere except for the chip- the non-chipped skull isn't. I'll just have to wait a few days until that feeling wears off. I don't think I've gotten a perfect SOC since Poseidon.
(I'm emailing HLJ to see if they take back defective merchandise. If they won't, and someone would like a chipped Gaiking for, say, $90 shipped to the US, it'll be available. If anyone's interested I'll get a pic- haven't even combined the thing)
Great pics, Josh. I can see you got lucky with yours.

I can relate to your problem with the manufacturing defects you've been having with your SOC purchases. It sometimes feels like playing Russian roulette when buying an SOC. You never know if you're going to get one with quality problems or not. I've also had problems with the GX-05R and bought a backup. Well, sometimes it's a matter of having to live with a defective SOC. It would be much better if they weren't so expensive. Maybe Bandai should have a parts replacement service.

Bandai does replace parts for Japanese customers- I read about people making claims all the time. Some Japanese SOC fans seem to be making claims on every other SOC they buy. Unfortunately we foreign fans don't have that option.

If I had the extra cash right now I would buy your defective Gaiking, Ataru. The paint chip wouldn't bother me since I would re-paint it into a yellow belly version.

I'm suprised it passed check.
