Can you take a picture of a SOC next to it so we can see the scale. I have wanted the Argo for a long time. Also is that thing diecast?

No, it is purely plastic. However the ship is almost holo, tons of places can be opened or moved. Dam-n my Gaiking looks so nice in this picture

So bro what are you waiting for? If there's one and only one SOC that you have to have, it is GX-27 Gaiking. The gimmicks it offers are countless, and it is IMO the best made Go-Nagai SOCs so far.

Sorry, I was making referance to the Yamato space ship.
However you are correct in that I do not have Gaiking yet. I like to buy all of my stuff from Tam at Twin Moons Anime and he has not got one in yet. By the way he is selling the GX-04S for $184.00.
I want Gaiking pretty bad. I just hope he gets them in soon, cause I have had the urge too many times to pick it up elsewhere.

The yamato is awesome. It isn't all plastic though- the main booster is diecast, and so are the main turrets.

Cool! The BPX-01 is the jewel of my collection.....and I also have the same Rei statue as you. Hehehehe. It also looks like Bandai did NOT mold the main antenna in a hard plastic.

I agree, Gaiking is one of THE best SOC's you can get. Also Gaiking wasn't designed by Go Nagai but by Dan Kobayashi. By the way nice pics Drew. you lucky bast#rd .

I just bought (Captain Herlock) Arcadia (Limited Version with glow-in-the-dark skull bones) last night. I must say it's a wonderful piece. I like it more than the BPX-02 Yamato. The big knife (w/ Crocodile Dundee accent) can be removed. The only thing I'm afraid of is the fragile pieces. You have to be extra careful lest you break an antenna or something. Speaking of which, the BPX-02 Yamato is rather fragile too. I bent and almost broke off the smallest turrets. You know what I'm talking about? I wonder if there are replacements for those.

Captain Harlock rules! So is Starblazers Don't think there's replacement parts just for that unless someone is welling to sell just the parts tho.

I just got mine and I love it. Do you guys recommend getting the other ship--the one with the knife sticking out. As you can tell, I don't know much about this series. I just got it becasue they are sort-of part of the SOC line (the only line that I collect).

Arcadia (...the other ship--the one with the knife sticking out) is produced by Aoshima. I bought the [glow=green, 2300]Glow in the Dark Version[/glow], which is supposedly a "Limited Edition" item (1,500 pieces worldwide). andrewdsz has a black version that looks great.
I also have a BPX-01 Yamato. Anyway, I actually like Arcadia better than Yamato. Well, that's just my opinion. You can have more fun with the Yamato with its many light and sound functions, but Arcadia is heavy with diecast.
BPX-01 Yamato and PX-03 Haneda's Bike are actually SOP (Soul of Popynica) and not SOC (Soul of Chogokin).

You can have more fun with the Yamato with its many light and sound functions, but Arcadia is heavy with diecast. Diecast content is what swayed me to The Arcadia. I bought the weathered version w/ knife and it stands as one of the nicest pieces in my collection. The blade isn't just a gimmick they decided to add to the piece for looks; it's used in a critical scene in Captain Herlock: The Legend Returns.

The Arcadia is not a Bandai product, right? This is good because it will prevent me from getting it. I have to focus on the SOC line only--I've already spent thousands on it. I already feel guilty for straying from the Chogokin line (I have a number of Popikas).

Nothing wrong with aoshima, their Mazinkaiser and New getter is a must have, at least one piece for each.

The sound effects on my BPX-01 sounds a bit weak. I changed the batteries again to make sure that what I put in was not old. Is this the same for you guys?
