Hey guys. I've been in HK for the past little while. I was shopping around for various toys/SOC, and I found a few GX-02R's for sale. Is $1000 HKD worth my while? Or is Bandai planning on reissuing GX-02R as well? Thanx guys.

Hmm... Given that I love all the Mazinger-type bots, if you don't have one, I say go for it. (I'm probably being biased). Fact: We haven't had any news of a GX-02R reissue so it's a judgement call on your part. Ask yourself: "Do you want to take the chance?"
$1000HKD works out to around $125USD and that's more or less the going rate on eBay anyway - plus you'll save on shipping since you're already there.

Well, it is a pleasure to check upon the box condition yourself and pick up a MISB GX-02R rather than worry about shipping damage and the condition of the toy.
I suggest you to pick it up, once you hear the re-issue news about GX-02R, you can always sell it before its re-issue day and get your money back.

Good to hear that you guys are steering me towards the "go for it" side. As for the selling before the reissue, I don't know how long I can keep it MISB. It'll be a very VERY hard task. Thanks for your posts btw

Just dont cut the parts off then you fine. when you sell it just states that both the toy and the box is in C10 condition, and the parts are UNASSEMBLED.(Especially the blue missle on the belly, i know it is very tempting but DO NOT ASSEMBLE it.)
that will get you a good price.

Hey guys! What's up? This is AntuKin from Ecuador, remember me? No..? Oh well.. I've been away from this board for a while due to lack of time and crappy internet connections, but anyway, I'm glad to be back.! ;D
Bootx2, you just stole this thread from my mind, as I was going to ask about the GX-02R, too. I am wondering when will Bandai reissue Great Mazinger. I find it quite strange that they have been re-issuing GX-01R, and even rarer (Or is it "more rare"? - Sorry for my English!) robots like the expensive Grendizer full set and now the Getter G ones, but there's no news about 02R.
Actually, I already own Great Mazinger (which kicks ass, BTW...), but my cousin is dying to get one, but as you guys stated, on Ebay, they usually go for USD130 or above without shipping, and he isn't sure about getting one right now. Lookig at this business objectively and historically, I advised him not to rush and get one right now, but rather wait for a reissue and buy it at its real retail price when this happens.. But when will this happen? Any word on when Bandai will reissue it? Given the fact that Gx-01R was reissued last Christmas, I was betting on a Great Mazinger reissue for this Xmas. However, other robots come and go, and there's no word on 02R yet.
What should my cousin do? Grab one right now, or keep waiting for a reissue in the short/long run? ???Opinions are welcome.!
P.S.: I'm also waiting for a Getter robo GX-06 set reissue for me.. Will this happen soon?

I'm sure Bandai will re-issue GX-02R sometime the question is when they will do it and if your cousin is willing to wait for one. If it where me, I would get one now and try to keep it in mint condition so if/when Bandai does re-issue one I can sell the old one a get a cheaper new one.

Never ask 'should I get it?' when you see any SOC toy under GX-12!
Get it get it get it get it!
It's definitely worth your while!

The current going rate for a GX02R on YJ is 8000-10000 yen which is less than 100 usd.

It is the same since you have to pay shipping from YJ to your country PLUS the intermediate fee if you can not bid on YJ yourself.

Not too sure how much HK$ is when converted to US$, but if it's the Aoshima Mazinkai, it's worth it too. ;D

No it's the Max one. But, I don't know... call me stupid or whatever, but I like the Max one better. I think it's more detailed and the proportions are better.
