well since Bandai was part of the production of the Mazinkaiser DVD's I assume they have the rights too produce one. But I think they are concentrating more on the classic bots instead of a totally new characture. Plus who knows maybe Aoshima, MaxFactory, and Bandai have some kind of deal where they will not release a Mazinkaiser figure too close to each others so as not to steal sales.

I'm guessing Bandai must have rights to Mazinkaiser somehow. If you own a GX-07 Mazinger OVA version, take a look at the upper left corner. I don't speak Japanese, but I can read a little katakana (a part of Japanese alphabet), there it says "Mazinkaiser" as the anime series the GX-07 belongs to. I try to be optimistic and think this could mean someday we could see a Mazinkaiser SOC. As to "when" we get one is anyone's guess. I don't know how well the GX-07 did for Bandai, as I see some still floating around at Ebay. BTW, I just got mine a couple weeks ago for I saw they are starting to get scarce and more expensive. But again, I don't know if sales of GX-07 will influence Bandai on producing a Manzinkaiser or not. I agree with Chen in that Bandai is focusing on more "clasic" robots, but they made the Evas and six of them, belonging to a relatively new anime series... What do you think?

Well The Eva's are probably the most popular robots in the past decade and were revolutionary for the time and will definately be classics 20 years from now if not already. Plus Bandai figured they could sell six different figures which are basically the same figure except with minor detail differences.
