Oh my gosh he is small. Is he to scale with the rest of the SOC's (I know that this can not be exact)? And what is his metal content?

Looks about like the same zinc content and height as Zambot Ace. It comes with a model, ;D ;D

damn. how can the charge $60 retail for this small thing. getter 1,2 and 3 each cost around that and they are much bigger with alot more diecast. damn. no wonder bandai gave an extra model to sweeten the deal. i will put my order on hold and wait till the price goes down because i really don't think this will sell with soc collectors.

This piece will be one of the worst selling SOCs in the history.
I mean come on a 5'' toy for 6800 yen? Give me a break. Plus nobody really noe who the heck he is.
Period.

Now that the actual product is out it doesn't look half bad no matter how much i try to tell myself i'm not going to get this I'll probably cave. I haven't missed an SOC to date except for all the repaints and "r" versions
This is certainly a better choice than another EVA release and a suckier choice than another more popular 70's superrobot like daimos or danguard ace. So over all its "luke warm" for me
The way I see it is that bandai shaves metal off a released item the more gimmick it puts on it to keep its production costs in check and maximize their profits.
So the bigger, the more combining features and the more lights and other bells and whistles on it the less metal you can expect [IMO]

It is been confirmed that this piece has less than 35% diecast, only the upper chest piece, shoulder and the feet is diecast. The black model kit is very loose after completed, the wing and the 9 hole rocket launcher is like falling off very VERY easily. Further more bandai is using cheap plastic container to hold the main body instead of traditional bubble foam, what a piece of SHI-T... ...! This is definitely a SOUL OF PLASTIC. I mean give me a break if bandai you want this piece to be called "SOUL" of chogokin at least 50% should have been present Same price as GX-01R but the actual value worth MUCH less.

I guess this doesn't have enough going for it to win over any new fans. I love the design and the show, and this is by far the most accurate Xabungle toy available. Guys, how much did you pay for the Zanbo Ace? This still looks better to me than it, and perhaps it would be better compared to it than to the other SOCs. Or to the kadou senshi. I know you're bidding on a bunch of kadou senshi right now andrew and they have a similar amount of diecast. It seems like their attention from the start though was to make it so that it could be displayed with the Xabungle model kits, which have just been reissued and are also 1/144.
Frankly, I haven't been that impressed with SOCs in a while though. Nothing really new with the Mazinger angels and Kikaijuu, as much as I like the Kikaijuu. The Gaiking was disappointing to me for it's price- it doesn't feel nearly as SOLID as the cheaper Mazinger and Great Mazinger R versions. Tetsujin bugged me with its lack of neck articulation and I'm not really a fan of the design, but it was pretty nice I guess (fortunately the neck thing will be dealt with for Black Ox!).
Man, I need my Grendizer reissue.

This thing seems more in line with the GD issue Kahen Senshei Gundam figures like the Zeta or the Hyaku Shiki: limited die-cast, 1/144 scale (more or less). I'm looking forward to seeing pictures from someone who buys it. I'm not sure if it will find its way to my shelf or not.

I'm looking at my GX-23A Zambot Ace right now...
Oh, man! GX-28 Zambungle is small.
Well, I don't know if this toy is going to sell. On the other hand, Japanese like things small, so it might sell well in Japan.

probably they made it small so that it would be in scale with the gallier type (the other mecha used by the hero in the anime), which would be probably same height as zambot3 (in scale). xabungle is definitely on my list, the first "real robot" in the soc line.

I'll get it but I'm saving judgment till I have it in my hands, although it does seem a tad overpriced.

Check out this pic guys. I think it really looks good next to both the HCM walker gallier and the Kadou Senshi Gundam- I'd say it looks better than both (although it's certainly less posable than the gundam). I'd pick up an HCM walker gallier to go with it but I bet we'll be seeing a SOC of it too. \

Xabungle is kinda pricey. I think the EVA had more die-cast parts than this thing. Good thing I decided not to get all SOCs anymore.
