Overall, I am extremely happy with the design and workmanship of the SOC line. However, since I've spent thousands of dollars collecting every single one of the color version line (I have most of the Popikas too), I am a concerned about the quality of some of the toys. Here's my "broken" list:
- PX-01X: Same problem as everyone. The darn thing just stopped working
- GX-02: Left arm is totally loose
- GX-03: The bottom half of the robot keeps falling off. I have dropped that portion so many times... This is the only robot I have that seem to have gone through an actual battle
GX-11: Trigger happy breasts. I have already spent many hours looking for these damn boob missles
gX-13: I lost one of the tiny hands (okay, this is my fault... I think)
- GX-23: Broken Zambot Ace leg. It sanpped off while I was putting Zambot together. Imagine the horror!
- GX-16: Both legs are loose. It can barely stand up
Thanks for letting me share my grief. What are yours? And would these issue ever make you stop collecting them?

GX-03:both shoulder joints snapped off from a heavy fall in the garbage(eeeewwwwww). Gave the battle clasher a "funeral" in my yard and cleaned the other four machines and displayed them in my "lost" toys collection. They are no longer in contact with any of my other Gokins.

I've been pretty lucky so far with my SOC's there have only been a few problems that I encountered. A loose head on GX-04 and the paint chipping off GX-07's Breast Fire attachments, oh and the chrome is starting to loose it's luster.

I had a gx-01r that took a beating, but the more it was beaten up, the more I was impressed with its toughness, so I wouldn't complain about the quality. Once it fell and the scrander exploded into a million pieces, pieces that somehow were able to all be put back together without so much as a stress line in the plastic. Another time it divebombed a gundam model from a few feet up, and I'll let you guess which was left worse for the wear.

I have over 100 SOCs so far and nothing is broken. Once I pulled them out of the box and made a good post i left it like that forever.

I'm with Rayar, If you display 'em and not let kids and on occassion yourself play with them a bit much, then it should stay in very good condition.

I play with mine all the time, I just can't help it (okay, this sounds so wrong...). I just don't think that I can fully enjoy the collection and continue buying them if I don't take them out of the box and play with them now and then... Okay lots of time. How do you guys do it? I mean have such self control? I know, it keeps them from breaking. But heck, for around $100 each, they better be durable!

With me, I'm a daddy of 3 and work a whole lot so I really don't have time to play with it...pun intended LOL, but it is a collection and I respect each piece as if it was a work of art, so I would make it pose and snap a few pics, but I don't like play with like..."Rocket Punch!" and shoot the fists at Doublas and the punch Doublas in the stomach and say, "Ha, I'm Kouji Kabuto, I have owned you!" ;D ;D ;D
Mazfan, to each his own, dude if you like playing with it, go ahead play with it. It is perfectly normal and the thing they say about the palms and blindness are totally myths. ;D ;D ;D

For me because i have too many pieces of collection so i dont really have the mood and time to play them. Be honest the place i spent the most money is the girl anime statues. The average price of them is like 100$ a piece, along with some crazy expensive ones over 1000$... ... After having those statues I have habit that not to touch the toys when unnecessary... ....Because i broke some toys before.

I've been lucky so far. The hoses won't stay on the power jacks on the Evangelions, but a drop of glue fixes that. I transformed my GX-03 when I got it, but I'm taking no chances with it. Especially the shovel/claw things on the tank- they were so tight that I was afraid I'd snap them off trying to extend them. I even used WD-40. Anyway, I just leave it alone. My Getter Poseidon took a nasty shelf dive into a glass bowl. Luckily it survived unscathed, although I did have to rub out a scuff mark on the plastic.

I think most of the damage caused to SOC's is the dreaded shelf dive. I still don't know why Bandai didn't use waist stands like they did for the Mazin Girls or Getter G team for all SOC's. I have my display stand on carpet and when you walk by you can just see some SOC's start swaying back and forth, Great Mazinger is the worse since his Scramble Dash makes him top heavy.

Wow, based on the feedback... It seems like I am one of the few "players" of the SOC line. Do guys think this is the case--most people just display them?

definitely the gx-03 issue for me, mine took 2 dives. Once it just fell flat on his face and the other time (the worse one) took a top shelf dive onto my hardwood floor (ouch!), left a scratch on his knee.
