Tks Gold. At least I can check the box & have an indication. Has anyone seen the 2006 reissue? I'm curious among the three issues. My supplier called me up & confirm has reserved a set for me but without knowing which edition... Will wait for your pic comparison Gold. PChin, are you tommy's friend? Just in case, I'm his brother in law. To answer your quiry, the colors on the third reissue in my opinion is a bit brighter than the previous ones. That is the only difference I noticed when Patrick of PTOYS showed it to me.

Just saw this pic on Ebay, looks like this will be the extra Hongkong item for the Gx03 Combattler reissue. Not sure if any accessories will come with the toy. Gold

I've got the re-issue already, from Japan though...nothing different as far as accessories...this extra fig looks interesting definitely hk
But you are right with the colors. The 1999 version is definitely the best. I had the 2003 and sold it. The colors were off but I think the 2006 is brighter...I'll also try and take some pics for you guys.

Hope 1 day we can meet & witness your treasures in person hehe I got my Combatler last weekend at Patrick Toys. Just finished volted it a while ago. Eh...it seems shorter than Voltes V but from posted pic they both seem to have similar height...will use a measurement tape tomorrow just to satisfy my curiosity.. ;D I checked the box...yep just as Gold's reply, the box reveals 2006.. Will try to post pics soon.

I got one yesterday. There is a slight difference in the back of the box, particularly the positioning of the text....you can tell immediately the difference.
Highlander is correct, I compared the 1st release GX-03 to the 2006 version, and the colors are brighter, particularly the red color. You can't really see the difference until you physically compared them side by side. Even the red plastic parts are brighter.
One thing I dislike about the reissue is the obvious lack of quality control with Bandai these days! The one I got has some paint bubbles in the #2, #3 and light scatches on the legs of #4. I wasn't too satisfied with it, so PTOYS was kind enough to open another box for me to choose, and this one was even worst than the first one I got! Paint weren't as even and there were so much paint bubbles. Really small, but they really bug me! So I had to just be content with what I got! I dunno why the reissue had so much problem...maybe because of the speed with the release of so much SOC the past few month....possibly affected the quality control of Bandai

For the curious, here's a photo comparison, the one on the left is the original, the one in the middle is the 2003 reissue and the one on the right is the 2006 version. The one with the most problems is the 2003 reissue -The Battle Jet has 2 shades of red for the head and body of the jet Battle Crasher -2003 version has a maroonish color and the wings are pale(this is what annoyed me the most) -2006 version still has a little color variantion in the wings but the red plastic is almost on par with the original 1999 release. Battle Tank -maroonish plastic claws. Battle Marine -The red plastic parts are the same but the yellow wings colors are pale Battle Crasher is almost unremarkable, except for the slightly brighter yellow plastic in the 2006 reissue. Box, this was what DMe30 and Buffy were talking about, the change in the warning label layout. The new 2006 box is the bottom one. Styro, there are now indentions in tray where Combattler's kneecaps are. As for the differences in color between the 1999 and the 2006, yep the color is very slightly brighter in the 2006 but the difference is marginal. Oh, yeah, the blue plastic forearms on the 2006 version has a bit duller finish compared to the original release. Also of note is that the box Hologram sticker is absent on all release versions and also there's no Tamashii paper insert on any of the releases(old and new) Gold

To me GX-03 should have a Renewal version by now. When I compare it to GX-31 it seems that GX-03 just doesn't have the detail that matches GX-31. I would like to see one in the future w/ improved thighs and ankles, clear cockpits, and (maybe) rolling wheels on most machines. For now I'll skip GX-03 and sit back and enjoy GX-31.

I just finished combining my Combattler and volting in my Voltes yesterday. I can't help feeling that the plastic wing of Battlemarine is so cheap...
My Combattler comes with a loose right elbow, I tried to tighten the elbow joint but it doesn't work - have to try something else later. While combining, I noticed that connection of the Battletank and Battlecrasher (the chest) are very-very prone for paint chipping. Connection is tight, though. My other gripe is, other than the Battletank and Battlecraft wheels, none of the wheels of the other vehicle are working wheels!! Leg articulation are also limited, no forward/backward movement on the thigh, makes me wonder why the knee articulation is present. The gattai engineering is amazing though, although it can't rival the Voltes, because parts removal are required for gattai. I found almost no paint bubbles, except a few here and there on secluded spot. Mine comes with scratches on the left forearm - a problem I will try to fix with some compound. Verdict - 7.5 out of 10
On the other hand, the Voltes is simply amazing. The gattai is almost perfect with no need to remove parts (except for the wheels in Voltbomber). Mine comes with almost no noticeable paint imperfections - just a few bubble here and there. The connections between parts are very tight and secure, including the one between Voltpanzer and Voltfrigate. I can pick up the Voltes and hold him on the torso without fear of the legs falling off. Die cast content is also very high making this 'bot very heavy. One minor problem is that the Voltbomber is kind of loose and flappy, but since I only keep it combined, it doesn't matter very much to me. Final verdict - 9,5 out of 10.
Since never owned any of the old DX toys - please keep in mind that these are just my humble opinions.

Sadly, the Combattler's elbows have always been a problem for me, it's just sad that he can't hold a combined Twin Lancer sometimes. BTW there is a way to avoid the chest scrapping. Just try to keep the Crasher's diecast plate at a 45degree angle, insert the Crasher into the tank. Then snap the plate to 90degrees. To disconnect, just position the same plate to 45 degrees again before extracting the Crasher. At least that's how it works for me. Never had a scratch in that area yet(so far) Gold

I have no problem with my Com-Battler holding the Twin Lancer but I do think the metal one would be to heavy for it.

@ Gold : Thank you for pointing this one out. Now, is there anyway to fix the loose elbow joints?!
