I was wondering, did anyone in this board place a pre-order on the re-issue of GX-03 Combattler reissue in HLJ, due out in May 2006? About two-three weeks ago, when I check the status of the item, it was still "May Restock". But now, when I check my order status, it said "Future Release", and when I check the item, it said "Discontinued" !! What the heck, did Bandai decide to cancel their re-issue, or could somebody give me a better explanation?! Thanks Guys, your inputs are greatly appreciated.

I also put in a pre-order for GX-03. I also am wondering what is up with this one. I think Bandai is more than likely still going to re-release this one but possibly have delayed it due to the amount of SOC production they have going on right now. I can't remember where I saw it, but I do recall seeing another site listing this as a re-release aswell. However it really is anyones guess as to what is happening with this. Maybe they are thinking of doing a R version? Maybe I should fire off an Email to HLJ and find out what is going on.

An R version will be greatly embraced!!
But no explanation so far on the status of the GX-03 reissue?! Even the SOC EVA unit-1 and Unit-0 (blue) which was also listed as May (or June, don't remember...) restock dissappeared from the list! Makes me wonder if they're cancelling the reissues to make way for the newer ones.
BTW, I put a pre-order on GX-01R due out on August, hopefully this one is for real.

Okay, so I emailed HLJ. They have told me that Bandai still plans to release GX-03 later this month (Not sure how much later they can get, this month is almost over). The reason it has been removed from the list on their site is because they are no longer taking orders for it at this time. Also they said that if the status changes on this item that anyone who has a preorder for it would be notified.
Cheers ;D

Great news North of 49!! However I went on to cancel my pre-order, I wonder if that change is being registered in their order status, because I only received e-mail that "a change in quantity of the item" had been made. I hope that did not cancel my pre-order!!
Thanks a lot guys!!

My order just entered processing today from HLJ. ;D
Soon I will have the brothers standing side by side.
If you didn't change the amount, there should be no changes to your order. If you cancelled it, you would have received an email from them telling you that you cancelled your order and the amount is now zero.
Cheers!

A lot of people are also dumping their gx-03 on ebay lately. I bid on a first issue gx-03 and won it at $85.00 including shipping a couple of weeks ago.

I'm actually curious to see the quality of the latest reissue, the second reissue in 2003 (which I got) had a very different shade of color on the plastic parts
a few notables were:
-Battle Crasher's wings were now dull orange instead of bright yellow
-Battle Crasher's red plastic parts are now dull maroon
-Battle Tank's claws are also now dull maroon.
I still prefer the original release.. but I might get the new reissue if the colors have been corrected to match the first version.

My order got shipped today! If you didn't change the amount, there should be no changes to your order. If you cancelled it, you would have received an email from them telling you that you cancelled your order and the amount is now zero. It's so true! When I attempt to cancel my order before, I didn't notice that there was a CANCEL tab under the ordered amount. I'm glad I didn't cancel my order! My Combattler will arrive around the same time my Voltes does. Double the fun in June!! ;D ;D Once again, thanks North of 49!!

No problem nik. HLJ has always been reliable for me. There have been some issues in the past but they were all minor and common to all online retailers.
Mine shipped today too. I should see it within a week.
Cheers! ;D

Great to hear there will be a GX-03 Combattler Reissue I'm eager to get this set as well. Btw, for clarification...since this will be the third reissue...is it common that most reissue will be much better than their original counterparts? There are a few original units up in ebay but guess I'll put it on hold till the new reissue is out. What do u guys think?

It has been released... it's identical to the original, articulation etc

Yup if it's not an "R" version it will be pretty much identical to the original. Of course there will be slight variations in paint and plastic colour since it is hard to match 100% the colour tones of a toy released almost seven years ago, but for the most part it will be the same as the first and second release.

I may get a reissue only if the colors match the original. Never saw the second reissue...
Gold, how's the color change? Does the plastic look "cheap"/lower quality or just different color?

Is there any words in the box packaging that indicate whether it's the original or re-issue since it's not a "R" edition? If the original is fine & if everyone is happy with it then probably that would be a good bet unless there's a reason to go for the re-issue. Any thoughts?

I may get a reissue only if the colors match the original. Never saw the second reissue... Gold, how's the color change? Does the plastic look "cheap"/lower quality or just different color? Actually, yeah, the color change does make the toy look somewhat cheap, at least compared to the first release which had anime accurate colors, the 2003 reissue felt substandard for me. I haven't seen the 2006 reissue yet though. Pchin, the way to spot which is which is by checking the release date on box. It's located on the lower left corner of the box front, dates are indicated 1999, 2003 or 2006. But sometimes this isn't accurate enough. I got my second Combattler in Hongkong in 2004 and even though the box had 2000 written on it, I didn't realize the the contents were actually 2003 until I got home in the Philippines(poor planning on my part, it was an impulse buy at the last minute as my flight was leaving that day, it didn't occur to me to check the contents for color discrepancies as I was in a hurry) I guess the boxes must've gotten switched. Better check if the one you get is factory sealed. I'll try to post a pic of the differences in color of the plastic parts between the original and 2003 reissue later on when I get home(hopefully in a week or two) Gold

Tks Gold. At least I can check the box & have an indication. Has anyone seen the 2006 reissue? I'm curious among the three issues. My supplier called me up & confirm has reserved a set for me but without knowing which edition... Will wait for your pic comparison Gold.
