SOC Gunbuster should be an engineering marvel. It does look to have potentially low diecast content though. Looking at the prototype picture, I'm not sure where would the major diecast parts be on Gunbuster with so many panels and hidden compartments for things such as the buster collider and buster homerun. Hopefully it will end up with nice heft to go along with the wicked engineering.

Buster Machine 1 has the most likely least diecast parts, and Buster Machine 2 with the most.
Buster Machine 2 forms the lower body, it should have most of the weight on it to help balance those huge shoulder pad thingies in robot mode.

Got to say Gunbuster does look impressive, very well engineered.
I can't help wondering if Bandai is becoming a victim of it's own success. Between the aftermath of Voltes and the gathering hype around Gunbuster and Ideon GX-32 and GX-33 are getting pretty much overlooked.
Leopardon has dropped off the 1st page and the gold zippo whatsisname thread is languishing three pages back (at the time of me posting). It must be of some concern to Bandai that the next release in what is their flagship robot line is generating so little anticipation (at least on this board)

Leopardon has a smaller fan base due to the nature of the show it belongs to, a Tokusatsu Japanese Spiderman that has a super robot LOL. Not a whole lot of English speaking audience for a Spiderman that is a Japanese, would there? So unless you are a diehard diecast fans, or really like the 'unique' design, most would overlook Leopardon for natural reasons.

Quick! Someone get me a new pair of shorts!!!!
Seriously, on that first set of pics, it looks like there's a set of replacement feet for Gunbuster, to make the feet more anime accurate.
I sure hope it doesn't have the same problems as the GX-27 feet.

The anime accurate transforming face is awesome, very glad of replacement feet as the transforming ones might have had stability issues. The shoulder weapons compartments are nicely detailed but we Still haven't seen what's going to be in the right one.

I don't know much about Gunbuster, but GX-34 has good potential to be a great TOTY candidate and can even topple GX-31 if executed right.

Bizzio, have you seen any better pic of the Ideon sketches? I'd love to see those, that's going to rock just as much as Gunbuster.

Awesome, Awesome engineering! I just really hope the diecast is plentiful and the connection holds. That is a lot of small parts and pieces. Hehe I like the fact that they included extra feet. I'm guessing the "solid" feet would be diecast. Thanks Bizzio!! Gold
