Hey gang! I was surfing eBay in pursuit of another toy I was planning to induct into my SOC collection. I was actually looking for good deals on a transforming Gaogaigar... But then I stumbled upon Aquarion. It got me interested in finding out more about him/them. Well, for a couple of reasons, it's fully transformable and fully poseable. It doesn't come with extra hands (like the SOC line does which I hope they'll change) and you can pretty much maneuver the hands in any position you can (well, correct me if I'm wrong... I'm basing my facts on pictures). Anyway, a lot of the websites which talks about him are all in written in Japenese texts. So really, I don't know much. If anyone out there can read Katakana/Hiragana/Kanji and translate the information for me(not word for word just the details of this toy), I would appreciate it. I'm actually interested in finding out the percentage of the diecast metal used on the toy, how tall it is, how heavy it is, what are the flaws, the accessories, weapons... anything toy related. Thanks guys! I look forward to all your feedbacks and comments.

JUst want to point out that it does come with interchangable hands (like Socs). They are defaulted to closed fists (to enable transformation) , but then you need to swap in the open fists for posing or holding weapons

Thanks! It helped a little bit. So now, what's the difference between these two models? GE-01 and the GD-99 models.

Hey Dricks! That is actually also discussed in one of those 2 threads mentioned. One is the regular "Mythical" version (GD-99) and the GE-01 is the "Assault" version. I have the GD-99 and I do like it a lot, the only thing is this toy is top heavy in robot mode that you need to use a stand that comes with it. I am hoping to get the GE-01 soon if money allows it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Ronin777...
If you had to choose, which one would you rather get first? Aquarion or Gaogaigar? I'm sort torn right now... What's your suggestion?

Well in my case I would probably get Gaogaigar just because I have the Aquarion already. Either one is a good purchase. When all else fails............toss a coin! :-)

I've decided to buy the Aquarion Assualt model instead. I'll just get the Gaogaigar when I get paid in two weeks, hehehe!!! Though, I don't know yet if I should get the original version. Nah, I'll just use that money to buy something else... Thanks anyway!

hey bro, congrats! which version did you get? btw, as ronin mention above, aquarion needs a stand to stand up I ordered the Assault version (GE-01) instead. I kinda wanted to get the original too, but after reading the reviews, the Assault is better to have. Yeah, I know it would need a stand. But the vendor who I bought it from said that the kit would come with it, which is great I guess...

The whole enchilada, is available To RRent...it is not available in the US currently, so I don't think it is a huge infringement...Well arguably...it may go under "fair use".

Aquarion for me is one of the best combiner ever released, this is just me. What I really recommend is the Assault Type Aquarion, and it is very cool! If you have the Assault already, then better grab the Mythical too, since its the protagonist mecha of Sousei No Aquarion. Watch the anime and it has a good story on it though kinda complex but you'll get it. A lots of proverbs or values though. Here's some pics of Aquarion Alpha and Solar Aquarion, from my newest display glass shelf. Detolf, I love you! Just the Aquarion Alpha makes me drool on this chogokin. A Must have. Again, no display stand on it, won't slide on the glass surface, won't tilt forward or backward, very excellent! But my Solar Aquarion is kinda loose on the knee part so, I kinda lean it on the back glass.

I'm pretty sure that "protagonist" merely means that it's the main mecha, not the enemy mecha (that would be "antagonist")....

Nice display case too! Thanks mannyD! BTW, Mythical is the main mecha, so protagonist in other word, not antagonist. Though sometime it becomes an enemy, ooppss spoiler! ;D
