Hi people! Judging from the pictures, I can see this Eva figure is clearly a Saint Seiya Cloth Myth rip off concept.. But that's not a bad thing at all! In fact, I own almost every Saint Seiya CM figure, and I must say they are beautiful and Bandai has re-engineered the core body of the figure twice, achieving more poseability options. Now, this concept translated to the EVA figure means we can expect a totally dynamic toy, very anime accurate! BTW, this figure really honors Bandai's line as you can really see the SOUL of the Chogokin! As for the SOC Spec line itself, I believe the "dress up" concept can be cool, and we should wait and see what Bandai has up its sleeve. Personally, I'd love to see a Genesis Climber Mospeada (Robotech's 3rd generation) Bike, you know, the one that transforms and becomes the armor of the riders. Even though, it might not classify as a "robot" itself, I think it could somehow fit into this "dress-the-figure" thing, plus I always wanted one of those as a kid! Well, just a little daydreaming... Peace! So... the Sant Seiya Myth Cloth figures suck? Too bad. I wanted to get Pegasus and maybe that Hades Griffin.

I meant all the opposite, but maybe I didn't make myself clear.. They are really cool (at least for me..), I suggest you check one out and decide.. Of course, it all depends on your taste, but that's a topic for another section, I guess. But in case you want to check out pics of Myth Cloth figures, I leave you this links: 64.79.195.73www.saintseiyagallery.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=viewallfolders&fid=100 and 64.79.195.73www.saintseiyagallery.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=viewallfolders&fid=117Hope this helps!

I love the Saint Seyia Cloth Myths as well, I have over 20 different ones...
My favourites are Gemini, Siegfried (Alpha) and Lyra.
BTW, does anybody have a scoop on the Masked Rider pictured below the Layzner?
Is it a Spec?

Just got my EVA SPec and I love it! They only thing was the painting around the eyes. The yellow bleeds out too much like in the pics above. Are they all like that? I wonder when we will be seeing pics of a SOC SPEC Unit 2? Bandai has to be making it considering they already have a base body and most of the armor already. I would think we would at least see Unit 2 and Unit 0.

I received my SPEC Eva and my first SoC Eva on the same day, and honestly, while the articulation and detail is greater on the SPEC, I think the SoC Eva is really a much more fun toy. The inner frame and joints on the SPEC Eva really should have been die-cast (and before I got my SoC Eva, I didn't even LIKE die-cast.) The articulation is amazing on the SPEC Eva, but it just doesn't have the balance the SoC Eva has. Couple that with a slightly loose hip joint, and poorly articulated head with loose jaw, and I'm just not astounded with it. There's alot of good stuff to the SPEC Eva, from the accessories to the beautiful hands for every accessory (whcih look great but are kinda a hassle) but it just didn't blow me away as a fun figure like the SoC Eva did.

Based on the post from Toys Daily, it looks to be 2 more limited edition figures (limited to Japan?). There is the original berserk mode from the first fight scene where Eva 01 rejuvenates its arm, and I'm guessing the "400 % berserk mode" is when Eva 01 munched on an an angel.

The thing is, both the regenerating the arm and munching on the angel are from the same bit... other forums I've been reading have been taking the two figure announcement as something of a typo, because both descriptions lead to the same variant, and there only seem to be pics floating around for the post-angel munch with regenerated arm Eva01... I at least assume it's just a second release of the figure with the rest of the accessories that should have been included the first time around... but who knows...

They should be around $80 + shipping Usually the $80 price point will be from HK so expect 20-40 more for shipping.

The right hip on my SPEC Eva just fell apart while I was reposing it... I've seen alot of people with it broken, but this looks like a different break on the same spot. I took the rubbery hip bit off, and it looks like the lateral joint on the hip basically just split apart along the screw collar that holds it together... def. looks like a weakened joint waiting to break rather then my rough handling (which I've made sure not to do.) Is there any good way for me as a stateside consumer to talk to Bandai about an SoC toy? I want this replaced as it looks like a poorly built part, and don't want to have to try and fix it myself... all in all I'm really not happy with the build and durability and feel of this figure, even if it IS incredibly detailed and amazingly articulated.

The replacement parts arrived from HLJ.com today. I'm very impressed by HLJ.com's customer service.

Haha... yeah, Hope to get the same deal from HLJ you did... then I can try and fix the old one first and have a spare if it's hopeless.

Well thats so cool! How did you convince them to ship you the replacement parts? No convincing at all? I just told them the truth. The break was caused due to bad quality control. I also sent in several pictures of the broken parts. They were also sent for free also. I guess I'll have to be more careful with this set of legs.
