If you were given a chance to buy either one of this items, which would you choose
Japan Online Limited CHOGOKIN - GOLD LIGHTAN WOODEN BOX SET - ( 6 IN 1 SET )
Or
A mint in box popy 1st edition grendizer.
Pls state your reason for your choice. You're logical explanation would definitely help in my decision. Thank you.

I'd go with the Popy Grendizer; a beautiful piece that is not easy to come by, especially MIB. The Lightans are nice, but in the end they are re-issues. If you enjoy Lightans, like I do, go after the original boxed Popy Lightans, which offer some really nice artwork. Besides you're only getting about half of the Lightans by getting that set. Hmmm.......I wonder what CHEN would advise?

The first wave had 5 (all the ones seen in the box, except for I.C. Lightan, which is the black one). I believe the first 5 were the ones that were in the anime series. Later on Popy released the second wave of 6 Lightans (including I.C. Lightan), which I think were made-up characters.

I really like the Hung Hing Toys Lightans. I have one of their small versions of Gold Lightan; solid, inexpensive and numbered. I wonder if the HHT version of I.C. Lightan is battery operated like the Popy one.
