For those you who did not benefit from having two Tagalog speaking parents:
45Caliber said, "Takot sa asawa" meaning afraid of your wife. "lagot ka, lagot ka isusumbong kita" loosely translated, beware, beware I will tell on you. or you are in trouble, you are in trouble, I am telling on you.

oh well just like me I will take a break with collecting SOCs. I stop with GX-32 Gold Lightan. I just couldn't resist the shinny robot. LOL Though if they produce Danguard Ace, Daimos and Robo Jeeg I am on it again. SO i hear you pal

if i stop collecting, i will shift to other hobbies like gambling, womanizing and drinking, which is destructive to me. so i'm better off collecting robots haha This strategy wouldn't work for me because I collect toys but I don't...gamble.

Know what? I am quite confident that the price of our beloved SOC collection will go up in price. It may not be in the near future but I am certain that their value will increase over a longer period of time--ten to twenty years from now. I don't have any intentions of selling my collection but it's nice to know that they may become real expensive collectors intem in the future. What do you guys think of this theory

What do you guys think of this theory Sure they can increase in value, but it'll take a lot longer than it did for the 70's and 80's diecast toys. The SOC's are being marketed to and bought by older collectors, a lot of whom are taking great pains to handle them with care or not opening them at all. There are just going to be too many mint and MISB pieces out there to create a big demand, while the fans of the 70's and 80's robots may not increase over the years. Off course, there are still rich suckers on ebay...

Me too after the 3 SOC Voltes V I bought...I took a break.. Voltes V SOC is lso the APex of my collection...heck he was the only reason that I got into collecting. I just wanted teh Godaikin V5...then it spread to Mazinger and to others...
Anyway...I am just waiting for SOC V5 RECOLORS and SOC DAIMOS and Danguard and Mekanda and other 70's robots that appeal to me....so far after Voltes 5 nothing appealed to me yet...
I Started diverting my funds to my photography and buying new Digital SLRs and lenses and accessories (I shoot weddings and special events as a part time money earner) and also having my cars fixed/maintained <I need them to go to work> :-)
As you guys may have noticed I also slowed down on my postings here and other robot forums, but I still lurk once in a while :-)

Gunbuster is getting me all excited. I may not end my collection completely, I will just be super selective from now on....

I said something similar myself a few months ago, but then Bandai, Aoshima and co started throwing loads after loads of super-selectable toys at me.
Damn them! Damn them all! ;D

I haven't bought an SOC since Eva-01 (which I later sold). I just wish they'd make a Dangard and Reideen so I can complete the Marvel Comics trio in the same medium. Right now I have the SOC Combattler posed with the Medicom MAF Reideen and the Romando vinyl kit Dangard because they are the closest in scale, but still a bit off.

Hi all, I have the same feeling from time to time that I should stop collecting SOC. But Bandai just always comes out with something new for me to keep forward. I don't recall how many SOC cartoons I saw when I was a kid, but I'm sure that this collecting habit will continue forever.

Sometimes I feel the same; lately I have been drooling just for such pieces as the fewture models or the daigokin ones...
Bandai tired me with all those reissues and those robots I don't even know...
Aoshima disappointed me with the new getter (I really hate its shape, so much different from the OAV series)
Max Factory is not presenting anything new...
So, I basically quit, the only exceptions being the new Arcadia by Aoshima (the blue version), the Fewture Getters and the Daigokin Grendizer (which will be added to my other Daigokin Mazingers)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants Dangard & Raydeen for EXACTLY the same reason I managed to score an incomplete Dangard Jumbo...but the Combattler always shows up when I can't justify the cash....I picked up the Popy ST version of Combattra just to have all 3 at the same scale with the ST Dangard & Raydeen...but I'd MUCH rather have the trio with SOC quality

I am pretty much the same. After I acquired Voltes V my interest in SOC has gone down. Like what mazfan wrote...Voltes V is the apex of my obsession. I would definitely be waiting for Daimos and hopefully Mekanda Robot-and that would complete my obession-if not-then I am happy with Voltes V. I am still logging here frequetly but the number of posts that I make has considerably decreased. This forum had helped me a lot and I still consider this forum as a "family." Thanks for making it all possible.... Yes, I know I posted this a few months back, but I recently purchased GX-21 to compliment the GX-22 that my bf gave me last Christmas. I also recently purchased although I am still waiting for it, a regular Dancougar (I have the recolour version) and Aphrodai A. I pvt. Carlo asking if he still has Gunbuster-I really would like to have him. I definitely would pass on Walker, Ideon, Kingrobot?, Leopaldon. But it still stands that VOLTES V is the apex of my collection. Meaning if I get to choose only one robot to take with me out of all my collection I definitely would choose Voltes V + Big Falcon ;D
