Hey guys... When you assemble/put together your robots (example: Voltes V), do you keep it on robot mode almost permanently? I do for several reasons:
1. The complicated robots are a challenge to put together (example: I spent an hour assembling Gunbuster)-I may never put it back together again
2. I don't want to risk destroying or losing any parts of the robot
3. I hate reading directions (sometimes I just do things instinctually and they magically work)
Are you guys the same or do you transform them to their many configurations all the time?

I guess I'm a transformer, about every 6 months or so there's a mazinger shelf shuffle and new poses are set and new accessories fitted. But I've got no Gattai SOCs so that may disqualify me.

I assemble them once, and keep them in their final mode. I have a fear in making the joint loose and paint scrapes... SOC is too expensive for me!

Just like me, I dont' move them and I don't transform them. It took me forever to decide to put the breast on the Mazinger girl, because I didn't want to use the spring.
Avec my Mazinger I did not use their springs at first, but it was so ugly without.

I transform them once when I initially get them to ensure its defect free, then I keep them in the mode which best suits my display. The only time I transform them again is when I re-arrange my display or when I get tired of looking at that particular mode.

I love to transform toys...I take them by the shielves and transform them to change the position inside of the shelves but too for amusement...obviously I take care too of them and for mine C10 I use to be very careful and ofr exemple to transform my daikengo I use the screwdriver so that the chrome parts don't scratch There is no sense in my opinon to collect some items leaving them always in the same way

im a transformers addict and i also enjoy playing and transforming the toy without looking at the instruction manual. i think thats the reason i like transformers.
kinda fun for me doing it.
but for my SOC voltes v. i played with it a few times and volted it in and out a few times but i too was afraid i might scratch it or something so i kept it in the box now. keeping it in volted form i think will loosen some joints in the long run. but thats just me.

I don't have any transforming SoC in my collection, but I do transform my VF-1 1/48 toys now and then - I like to change up my display a bit. And secondly, when I do perform the transformations, it gives me an excuse to take the toy off the shelf and actually play with it a little bit before putting it back in the display in the other form.

I sure transform my toys. Love to transform them a few times when I got it new, then change it for display every once in a while whenever I feel like fiddling it. I am very careful when playing my toys, so not worrying about minor paint wear, as that is expected. Don't want to miss all the fun the toy was designed to offer.

for the voltes V... I bought 3... one to play with -which is displayed in the Volted/robot form one to be displayed in the Camp Big Falcon I bought (5 clear acrylic boxes-before the Brcua Miracle and before teh Hong KOng Version) the 3rd one was kept MINTY mint! :-)
as for the others ...well... I have to SOC combattler...one robot form and the other vehicle form-displayed as such...but I got them both as used from relaiable people...
but for the other SOC's..I only have one of each SOC that I liked... I might have played with them a little when displaying them so they are still tight on their joints...they have been dipplayed as full robots because that's how they came as... as for the springs...I am just hoping that they will not loose their forms in the long run :-)
