Ah, that's really awesome looking! There was a concept sketch of it in the 2nd Project SOC book, with the other enhanced M-Angels, but I didn't realise they were actually going to make it. (Can't read the kanji. ) Do they mention when this is supposed to be released?

I think it mentions a March-April release but I'm not sure if that's for the Mazinger Angel CD soundtrack(that you need to buy to avail of the Diana Mermaid in Japan) or the toy itself.

Ah, thanks Gold.
So I guess this one's gonna be pricey, just like Snow White Aphrodai, Black Minerva, and Egyptian Queen Venus?

Ah, thanks Gold. So I guess this one's gonna be pricey, just like Snow White Aphrodai, Black Minerva, and Egyptian Queen Venus? Hehe, the tag price lists it as 6800Yen, more or less $70 (I think in Japan, one has to buy the CD soundtrack first and mail in the coupon that came with the CD, along with the 6800Yen to avail of the Diana Mermaid toy). But sadly, I think we can expect the price on Ebay and from non-Japan sellers to be higher than that amount. Gold

Honestly this Mazinger Angels doesn't do anything for me. They actually look silly I don't want to stir anyone here but that is just my opinion.

I like it (In Waynes World voice) "It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine." Personally I like the Angels much better than the originals...they seem much more creative and that appeals to me a lot

if your a die hard mazinger fan, yeah, the angels would mean nothing. Since hard core collectors always stick to the original. But if you think of it as an individual toy... they look hot! hehehe

I'm with Lawlacan with this one, albeit not as extreme. I like the originals and when the first Angels came out as Angels I got them, but when the Aoshima-style craziness started, it almost became like dream Barbie mermaid and Malibu Barbie tan swimwear... BTW, is that a mermaid or a bird?

I like it because it shows a "Sensual" side of the Mazinger Angels... the mystique of "Beautiful, but Deadly"...
...and it also adds a mythological touch to these figures. I believe the Japanese are indeed intrigued by Greek mythology. Hence the reference to it in the Mazinger-Z series, and later on in the Great Mazinger series.

As I mentioned in the Gold Venus thread, I think they should do God versions of the male Mazinger bots, with shiny new paint apps, and new mythological parts and accessories. Mazinger Zeus! ;D
