I think my GX-04S was the best out of the box.
My Aoshima New Getter is the only with a problem, the part with the getter beam, in plastic, has chip on a side.
As for the rest, when it's new, they do a good job.
In my second hand item, the only one with paint chip was my GX-04B, but behind the leg. The nose if Koji spazer was chipped also, but I fixed it with paint. The two part touched each other in the box.

hmmm... most of my SOCs have been perfect out of the box...the GX-01RB stands out in my mind as having a perfect box as well. No shelf wear, no tiny dings at the corners or along the seams, no creases or scratches on the box...perfect...except for the paperwork that got shoved in and has a bizarre fold in it..eh...
..on the other end, a couple Aoshimas have had flaws, notably New Shin Getter's thigh had a couple red drips and his forearm had a chip. And my white getter1 has a couple weird spots as well...

It's not a problem, is the normal design of every plastic part that fit the Getter Beam hole, maybe to remove easily from the hole Only in the Blacks and Toy'R'Us Version there are no chip in a side. ;D

Most all of mine are perfect except for the ff: GX-05 - paint scratches Battle Fever - chest scratch Xambungle - broken thigh connector Yellow Eva - slight scratch on its chest. out of about 35 or so SOCs I own four which are defective giving it an 11.42% chance in my case I get a lemon These are nothing though compared to aoshima as far as the aoshima goes I own 5 out of this I have an issue with two giving it a 40% chance in my case I get a lemon I'm pretty much going to stay away from aoshima for now I was planning to get the white training version but ...Forget it

SOC Grendizer GX-04S is the BEST in design + color + box + value.......no problems. I never owned Aoshima before because of what I've heard from their flaws in their toys.

The part I'm refering is the tiny plastic part that fit the Getter Beam hole. yes that is what i'm also talking about.. the one side has little flat cutted shape.. right? i think that is common to all getter beam covers for the 2004 new getter.. i have three variants/recolors of the new getters and they all have the same getter beam covers.. one side has a flattened.. almost look liked that it's been cut

I would say all the Max Factory, Aoshimas and SOCs have been excellent, but the GX-04 seemed to have been the best of all - maybe because all the color details. However, the worst I've come across in my collection have been the Marmit Dai Gokin Great Mazinger and Grendizer... paint chips, scratches, oversprays... absolute lack of attention to detail for such expensive figures!!!

I have no complaints about my GX-01R... ...However, I wish all the SOCs' display stands could have some kind of slide-out compartment built underneath the stands, for storing the lose extra accessories which won't attach to the display stand. I also wish the display stands were magnetic, to keep all the accessories from falling off whenever the display stand is moved around. Other than these two wishes, I really can't complain at all about the SOC line. My small Yamato Hero Collection Getter1 diecast figure, brand new, came with a tiny paint chip in his left elbow. Also, the head only turns ...I wish the head would also tilt up and down, for more dramatic glare poses. Nonetheless, this Hero Collection Getter1 figure was my "bridge" towards getting my first actual diecast official SOC figure. zozo-Magengar
