Okay, I would not trade my SOC's for the Transformers. Actually, I've forgotten all about my 25th Anniversary and the movie versions of my Optimus Prime (they are being displayed outside of my Aikea glass display case collecting dust).
Despite not appreciating them anymore, I do have to say that they are much for sturdy. Example, my Ideon keeps flopping forwards or backwards around the waist--it's really annoying, I basically stopped handling it. In short, I feel that the Transofrmers has more playability (is this even a word?).
Hand down though, SOC's look so much better. The Transformers look too plasticky (I know, I know this is not a word), especially the waist and thighs of the 25th Anniversary OP. Another good thing, this proves that I should not venture out of the SOC line. I have been very good at this. It is now almost 10 years since I've started collecting SOC's.

Yeah. Stick with the SOCs and the likes. If the Masterpiece TFs can't impress you too much (given you don't have the best version, but close enough), you won't find it very satisfying collecting more. The MPs and BTs are the greatest ones, when it comes to finish and aesthetics. I happen to like them quite a bit. But TFs are TFs. They cost less, and in most case can't really measure up to most SOCs, especially the more recent ones.
Maybe instead of going TF, you might want to go forward venturing into Fewture stuff. ;D Your wallet won't appreciate it though.
