Cheapest place to get SOC's is Patrick's Toy Shop in Shoppesville, Greenhills Shopping Center. Wasabi Toys also has good deals from time to time. These 2 stores may not have the best selection, but you can be sure you'll get the best deals there. In terms of selection, however, the shop that has the most complete stock of SOC's is GreatToys. Look up their locations at www.greattoys.net/ecom/

Basically, look around the blue lane of Greenhills shoppseville (Greattoys and Patrick's) and Theater Mall Greenhills (Wasabi toys). Greenhills a big multi-building complex, but if you have time to spare also check out Besttoys over at V-Mall (also part of the Greenhills complex). They also have another branched called "Jebb's" in Shoppesville. Gold

I just got back from the Philippines! I had a blast. I didn't really get a chance to do lots of SOC shopping. I was mostly there being the best man for my best friend. I did however managed to stop by the biggest mall in Asia, Mall of Asia. No kidding, it is enourmous. I stopped by this strore called Toy Kingdom (I think that I got the name right). I was surprised to see some SOC's there. The store looks more like Toys R' Us than a hobby shop. I was shocked to discover the outrageous price of the SOC's... $350 for the Voltes V and Zambot. Who could afford that in the Philippines? Or even the U.S.! Is the store on crack?

I don't know of anyone who actually buys SOC's from the big toy chain stores and department stores. People in the know make a beeline for the specialty shops in Greenhills, where the SOC's are much cheaper.

SOC's are considered "Hobby/Collector's " Toys. No one buys them from a Toy Store. They tend to jack up the prices. Greenhills would be the place to go!

I need to check out that Mall of Asia...also Greenhills. How big is the Mall of Asia really? Is a day enough to see all stores?

Zman. I don't know how big exactly but it is huge. I spent the whole day there shopping with my family. You know how it is being a Balikbayan and everything. I love the Bench store there--I am wearing the brand with pride here in Boston. Believe-it-or-not, I went back the following evening. Yes, it's that gynormous!
