Courtesy of Bizzio from MR Forum. It looks more plastic. Although it seems it could transform based from the artwork at the background, hope there's a lot of diecast in it.

Well, if Yamato can make one then Bandai better get cracking on an SOC version. That's all I have to say. ;D

This could be good or bad. it either means the creator has loosened up and is willing to help with a figure made of Danguard (which means a SOC could be possible) or Yamato went ahead and made one without him. If so then there probably won't be a SOC version anytime soon which would probably have been far superior and just look better. This one has had it's head shrunk by witch doctors!

You know what Chen, I think that was part of what was bothering me about this piece. That and the blocky hands. Other than that it is nice to see new Dangard Ace stuff. The fact that it transforms is even better.

Judging from the 18,000Yen plus price tag, I hope that this will be in the G-Nu Hagane line, so hopefully there will be some diecast...
Never thought that I would see Danguard Ace seeing the light of day, particularly from Yamato!

Definitely nice to see new Danguard Ace goodies but this one does not look that great. I still have my fingers crossed for a SOC version. This version seems to lack detail and just looks cheap.

yeah not really crazy about the look of this Danguard. But I'm happy its out. The proportions seem really off. The forearms especially.. they look really tiny. I hope Bandai SOC version comes out right!

Transform by changing parts is a little lame!!! I am looking forward to see a Danguard Ace from Bandai!!

Well I'll definately be buying it...it's not perfect by any means, but it will at least be a place holder next to Combattra and Raideen until Bandai ever releases a SOC version

As long as it is 50% diecast I will buy. Maybe they can include an extra normal head then I think it will make it a great addition to SOC robots.

This is just a pic of a prototype but so far it looks like a vinyl figure, I'm still hoping for a fully CAD designed SOC version.

Yamato doesn't usually give me a whole lot of confidence. Based upon what we saw in the Groizer X.. kinda simplistic and probably overpriced?

Indeed, from the looks of this it would seem to follow in Groizer X's footsteps. In this rare case, I'd really prefer my popy DX Ace and pass on this, as I did with Groizer X

Glad it's a prototype.... the material looks terribly cheap (it's a Yamato.... figures ). If it looks better in the final prod model, and has a good amount of diecast (30% would be fine), I'll snatch it up.... just in case Bandai doesn't come out with a SOC version. After that, all that's left is Daitarn III.

I like how Yamato sorta implies that partsforming is almost revolutionnary. Lazy would be a more appropriate word.

Leiji Matsumoto relented for this? Hopefully he doesn't see this version or we'll never get another Danguard figure. This thing looks bad. I usually get anything Matsumoto related, but I'll pass on this one. Here's hoping Yamato gets enough negative feedback that they'll completely overhaul this figure, but I doubt it.

We can always hope he sees this and says, "I'll bet Bandai can do much better!"
