My SOC collection is nowhere near $5,000 (only got the EVA's). Don't ask me about my Yamato Valkyries, though...

Do you think that the price of our SOC's would be significantly higher in let's say... 20 or 30 years?

I sure hope that they will become signicantly higher mazfan. It wont happen. Bandai keeps on reissue when demands are there for them. Some of the SOC aren't even made anymore so those are selling higher. There haven't been a reissue of GX-01 and GX-02 for a long time now. I've seen a couple of reissue GX-01R and GX-02R and recently, a new GX-07 was made. The line is over 10 old and nothing has really gone up significantly in value, except for the ones that hasn't gotten a reissue and those rare limited ones. Another reason that I don't think SOC will go up much in value is that they are collectibles, and most of the people that have them are keeping really good care of them. Most people still have the original box, kept them in display cases. SO 20 to 30 years from now, a lot of them will still be like in new condition. Lots of vintage toys from 30yrs sells a lot higher in MIB condition because there are few and are rare. Kids, play and destroy them, cause they are toys. 30 yrs from now, I think there are gonna be an abundance of MIB SOC's.

Hi Superfarterv. Thanks very much for your comment. Wow, that is sad news... Thank god I am not planning on selling my beloved collection in the future. What you wrote makes so much sense.

Slightly off topic but relevant: Okay, so you're already passed the $5,000 grand mark, big deal... Think of the poor ol ex-Gov'ner: "Client 9" paid $4,300 for 2½ hours..." "at least 8 times" Thats almost US$ 35,000 for 20 hours of enjoyment. He should have been given a robot when he was younger... BTW: Calling Client 1 to Client 8. We know some of you are lurking in this board... fess up! Yeah, you know who you are... ;D ;D ;D
