What's new with Bandai Japan? Does anyone know of X-Projects in the works. For instance, what do you think will come after Dancougar (besides EVA)? -E

I have heard rumor that BanDai will produce at the very least EVA 00, EVA 01(this we have seen pictures of), and EVA 02....we may see the EVA 03, and the EVA Prototype...but it looks for sure that we will see the first three. I must assume that the EVAs will be very similar to the Mazinger girls (Diana, Aphrodite, Venus, and Minerva) in design/playability. Super posable...but missing all the NEAT gadgits that make a SOC an SOC (Like shooting fists and stuff). I just hope that the EVA SOC will carry with them the same pricing as the Mazinger girls.

I read from HLJ.com that the EVAs are priced at Y5500.

I must admit...I really think that is expensive for what they are. They really should be in the 3800Y-4200Y range. The articulation is nothing "new"...basically what we have already seen with the Mazinger girls. The accessories will most likely be plastic...and not far removed from the Kaiyodo/Xebec figures...a pretty expensive diecast action figure. I also think that these will be over produced (due to the popularity of Evangelion) and the cost should be lower due to most of the pieces can be re-used to make the other EVAs.
On the flip side...I do hope the toys sell well so that the SOC line may continue and we may possibly get some more Super Robots.

Good point. I too think it will be overproduced, but will sell well. The price IS high, but on a par with other die-cast toys of the day. I imagine the design work should be ground breaking. The joints are very angular and quite different from old school bots. Should be fun to see in person! -Ed

i am just waiting for the EVA period will pass soon so that Bandai will start making superrobot again. hopfully the SOC is a Voltes V or some kind of old school combine superrobot. i wonder how long will it the for the price of Dancougar to drop down to the MSP so that normal ppl like me can guy one.

Well, the Dancougar has a suggested MSRP of 19800Y, so a $200.00 USD price tag is about right. I paid $205.00 for mine (and I picked it up) and it is worth every penny!

Amen to that. A toy of this quality doesn't come around very often. The weight, poseability, gizmos and styling are truly impressive. I hope after the EVA we'll get another taste. ;D
