Hi All, I just visited www.toywiz.com/ in person and saw the next big thing....Beyblades. Has anyone purchased them or checked them out? By all the kid's interest, I would say they will be in the US soon and selling VERY well. -E

You're late to the party, Beyblades hit the US about a year ago. They were insane in Japan, and the US market had high hopes for the same pokemon-style fad. But the US market didnt stick, and the show has been pushed to Fox Family, their second tier network. The toys are largely uninteresting. There are a few transforming tops, but the plastic quality is poor. www.collectiondx.com/features/beyblade/index.aspDespite poor sales, my beyblade page is still one of my most hit pages. so who knows?

They were a big hit too in my country, the Philippines. In fact my nephew owned a dozen, bootlegs that is Kids loved them. This somehow satiates their appetite for destruction. Once the tops are released in the stadium, participants cheer as each beyblade smash each other. The same concept is carried over to another hit today, Gear Crushers. I think Gear Crushers are aesthetically impressive. with great play values!

Cool. I haven't seen gearcrushers yet. Time to check out the local import stores and see what they have.
It's always fun to see what kids fad will catch on. In the end, though, Transformers Hotwheels and Barbie tend to rule the stores.
