At $10.50 it doesn't seem so bad, until you add that $23.00 for freight. Damn, for that amount you could of gotten an ST Vavilos and a hooker. A lesson indeed.

see this is where it gets tricky... i had wanted to bid on it the first time and i was stucj in traffic so i missed the bid... ( it was an omen... duh) anyway, i emailed the seller to see if hed relist it so i can buy it... he offered to sell it off ebay for less but i declined... then he said he'll list it, i just have to make a bid on it, he'll then end it and i will pay him $99 + $23S/H + $5 Sercharge... i was under the impression this was the real thing... *sigh* what to do??

Well if he listed it through ebay, you're covered by Safe Harbor's fraud protection. Look for them on the ebay site map. If that doesn't work, you might try registering a complaint through the Fed govt's web site www.fraud.com They may not be able to do anythign if he's out of the country, but one time I got conned by a guy in Taiwan and when I registered a complaint through them, he got scared and sent my money back.

Do you have any pictures, wording, auction link, or a description? There is a Taiwan Godmarz (slightly smaller than a Godaikin) that is legitimate. It does retail for over $100 and is almost worth it. Then there are Taiwan reproductions that are fairly good, and they retail for about $85. From what I've heard they are not that bad. Point being, I would like to get a better understanding of the transaction. It may not be as bad as you think. GodMarz diecasts, if real, would cost you well over $300 US. ....that aside, SORRY I feel for ya' when you expect "A" and then you get product "B". -Ed

looks like the real deal to me.
And You couldnt cry fraud, because nowhere in the listing does it say where it was made. If it says bandai on the box, that's what the seller states in the title. No false advertising there.
The only person at fault here is you for not asking the right questions before you purchased the item. You will learn in time to cover your bases before making overseas purchases.
I'm not trying to be rude, but find out all the facts before you go around saying bad things about another ebayer (who went out of his way to accomidate you).

I have to agree with JoshB here... The listing is somewhat misleading. But it's not the seller's fault that you can't read the label on the box. It does NOT say Bandai. It's some other toy company. It's obviously not the real thing. I'll consider this a rather inexpensive lesson. I am sure other members of this board (myself included) have been "conned" much worse than this. A couple of really good web sites www.toyboxdx.com/popy/popy_data/popy_index.htmwww.robot-japan.com/robots1.htmwhere you can see pictures of some of the items. I'll also recommend getting a couple of books if you are serious about collecting. Unfortunately I don't have the titles (they are in Japanese), but they have ton's of photos of the toys AND their boxes. It also shows you what accessories the toy is supposed to come with so that you know if it's complete. One of them even has suggested prices for popy GA, GB, GC & GoDaiKin toys. For example, according to this book, GB-88 has a suggested price of 20,000yen (~175USD). So even at 100 bucks, it's too good a deal not to be careful about... If nobody else can post the titles of these books, sent me an email at diecastjunkie99@yahoo.com. I'll send you pictures of the covers. But thanks for bringing this up so we can all be a little more careful if we have to deal with this seller...

I'm not trying to be rude, but find out all the facts before you go around saying bad things about another ebayer (who went out of his way to accomidate you). admitted, i did make this buy in haste~ in the email i sent him, i asked where it was made, he made no mention of it on the reply~ i was too exciting about the buy that i totally didn't even think twice~ the print on the back of the toy says japan, but the quality is so poor that i really think is just some fake that says "made in japan" so this taiwan/"japan" godmarz is legit? it just looks and feels SO cheap... im still so confused... theres actually a made in taiwan godmarz that recongnized as the real thing? i'll be darned... so is this the "real" taiwan repro cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4694&item=3129851373 if this link is the "real repro" then whats that make mine~ well, if im the one thats wrong, allow me to appologize here to ktaiwan who is not here for his defense. i do feel that my reaction was acceptible because im just dumb to the subject~ thanks for schooling me~ i've much to learn about these robots~ what i said about ktaiwan was how i felt at the time~ and i still feel that i was a little mislead~ but thats probably my own fault for being sucha dumb newbie~ if im wrong then correct me, i will stand corrected, no shame here in what i say~ another lesson learned is all~~~ thanks for the links diecastjunkie, i'll be spending lots of time to get myself aquainted with all da great stuff out there

There are several different boots of this robot out there. The Godtron (in your link) is a botleg of the full size version. There is also a version called "Jumbo Combinebot".
Bandai and other manufactures make legitamate versions of toys for different markets. For example Takara marketed a lot of transformers under the Sonkong label in taiwan, and under gigi in Italy.
They also can shift production from one factory to another. Certain Soul of Chogokin are made in Japan, others in China.
I believe what you bought is the smaller DX Godmars, for the chinese market, made in Japan. Ed would probably know better though.
Hey don't feel too bad. We all made these mistakes when we first started out. it's how you learn.

as what i know the smaller dx godmarz is for the Taiwan market and is a bootleg.. but some HK sellers pass it off as a genuine item some original popy toys are made in Taiwan or Singapore for the European market but they are exactly identical to the japanese versions. I compared my battle fever japan with Batte fever singapore and its the same toy, down to the copyright markings! There are several different boots of this robot out there. Indeed that is the full sized bootleg/taiwan version. I hear it usese the same molds as the Godaikin but is of an average quality.
To me that is a good buy which you could combine with an original and mix the parts.

That is a really nice bot. I remember being presented a bootleg daltanias DX for $60 USD.
Do any of you guys have it or have come across one before?
The one presented to me is in a C6 to C7 conditon.
Complete with box and accessories. box is in a c4 condition, methinks.

hum... just want to make sure i understand........ the one you bought, on the black and blue robot(the legs of Godmarz) both has yellow dots on the chest, but the taiwan made one has a original cartoon looking chest(flat surface). so there means there is 2 typs of taiwan made Godmarz out there?
