The Combattler In Box DX Popy set (like the Godaikin, but the big Japanese box from the 70's)....... How rare is it in your opinion? Are there things to watch out for in a purchase (say normal flaws)? How much have you seen it go for/ what would be a fair price for a C-9 toy c-8.5 box? Can you get one for me? THANKS for the help. -Ed

wow! so many questions.. i heard someone selling a big japanese combine box for US$5000 in japan last year, mint toy in mint box.. its quite rare considering the popularity of combattler.. in Hong kon, MIB 5 box set goes for US$1200+, i've seen combine box for like US$3500 C9 toy C8 box. I'm also looking for one ;D The Combattler In Box DX Popy set (like the Godaikin, but the big Japanese box from the 70's)....... How rare is it in your opinion? 1. How rare is it in your opinion?
I think the Combattler is a little rarer than the Voltes. Japanese box has to be the rarest followed by the Mattel U-Combine version.
2. Are there things to watch out for in a purchase (say normal flaws)?
I've owned 3 Combattlers and the major flaw in my book is the weak magnet that joins the legs to the torsoe. Thats why they also made a rubber suspender to hold the torsoe and the legs together. It also tend to lean back because of its heavier upper weight. On the overall design I think the proporsion kinda sux. It has a wide upper body with very skinny thighs and legs.
3. How much have you seen it go for/ what would be a fair price for a C-9 toy c-8.5 box?
I sold my golden box for $500 MIB. I've seen the blue box go for $500-$600+. I saw Shaggyfan selling a U-Combine version a while back that did not sell a while back on Ebay.
4. Can you get one for me?
I'll keep an eye out for you, bro.

so far in the past 2 years, i've only seen it on ebay 2x, one was from an italian selelr and the other from HK. this is for the original 1975 Combine Box, not the godakin. 1. Excellent, thanks guys! I am so very tempted by the HK seller that was on e-bay about 3 weeks ago. He wanted about $3200 which is a boatload of money..........I would have to sell like a mad man .....but it is a great piece. In the end I decided my pricepoint was closer to $2000. Again, I would have to sell some serious toy$ to pay for it. -sigh- I just LOVE the box art. Why do I have the box art sickness ;D
