FYI I have contacted a publisher to make Rex's robot drawings into a poster. So far I was considering a run of 100 or so. What is your level of interest and what volume do you think is appropriate? It is this art, but in a full rectangle: www.robot-japan.com/rjrobotpic.jpg

I'd buy one (of course ) Actually, I like it with that cut-out border and the RJ logo on it. Looks cool and kinda makes it more original and unique. One suggestion with the border though. Would it be possible to have just the tip of Combattler's and Voltes' head above the border, as if coming out of the pic?

VERY nice look. I might by one for my toy room, if I can find the wall space. What dimensions did you have in mind?

I definitely would buy at least one if the head of VOLTES V is included in the poster.

The border would't be the same asymmetrical look as on my index page. The poster would have a uniform black border. So we could see ALL of the art How does the number 100 grab you? -too few or just right? Ed

Y'know - you just might be able to convince me to buy into this. 100 sounds like a nice round number. Let's be realistic for a moment: not everybody on this board will want one. But you'll have some on hand if anybody changes their minds later. Personally, I think having something with the Robot-Japan logo on it hanging in my living room might be neat. Psst: I meant to also ask how big you think the final print might be...

1) Put me down for at least 4 at this stage- I don't even know your price but I've seen that poster art really brings in good annual % increases. In fact I might even grab more of them because I know a lot of stores that will be interested in the completed product...I've learnt that Koreans dig a completed item more than a cash requiring concept....
2) Please go wall mural size or museum size- and contact a couple of those big on-line poster malls to distribute some...that generates more interest from poster collectors etc and you might be able to make a tie up with them for future releases. You'll be surprised at what eventuates...
3) If it's at all possible do a run number on em...limited edition with certified numbers ups the value- it's just plain marketing good sense.
4) framing is real cheap in China+Korea...I've got a good wholesale connection for aluminum picture framing...if you get the shopfront concept going I'll list a framing package that matches the poster dimensions and also give frame color options/glass or plexi-glass etc.

OK I just got an update from my print artist. We will have a first run of 100 as a way to dip my toes into this unknown pool.
Only 100 11" by 17" mini-posters are scheduled to be made. It will be a "First Limited Run" and unique because of the small size.
**edit** Voltes V will be there.
If all goes well then we can add in Voltes and supersize the poster. This first run will be strictly limited.
I will need to charge $9.99/poster to cover the limited run costs.
Please send me an email to admin@robot-japan.com stating the number you would like, your name, and shipping address. I will confirm the orders after the printing is finished and then work out payment methods. Let's call this a pre-order email.

I definitely would buy at least one if the head of VOLTES V is included in the poster. I made an edit. V5 will be there! The 11X17 size will be unique. I also plan on numbering the edition from 1 to 100. If you guys/gals want, I can sign it. If REX is interested maybe he can add a private touch. That will be up to REX and would be some extra shipping cost. -What is your reaction to these ideas?

Thanks a lot Ed for the edit. ;D Now I will buy more than one poster... What would that "private touch" mean? REX has told me he would sign the posters if we ship them. Would everyone want to pay an extra buck or so for this? If not, I can just ship the posters out without his John Hancock or let you do the shipping yourself. Ed

Hmmm, well it's a little smaller than I'd hoped but if it's signed yep, I'll buy one or two. It'd be good if you'd `churn' a profit from this and go on to the next stage afterward- reinvest profits to make a bigger and better poster next time...it's the Asian way of building a biz up and this is `Robo Japan' after all! Now if in future you could get the likes of Alex Ross involved in a limited print run- Dude, I'd fork out some $$$ for that and I'm a tightwad these days. I'd sell some of my better pieces for good character based limited ed poster prints. You guys think I'm crazy but I've seen what old sci-fi themed posters go for it makes me wanna cry when I think of all the originals that I threw away when I was a kid.
