Hmmm - I had a good, if relatively sparse year.
My biggest haul was the SG01 T28, My most satisfaction came from the Diaclone Fortress X The one I most wanted and then got was the GA37 Grendizer,
but the one that's given me most pleasure is a totally wrecked and worthless GA10 Getter Dragun.
He's loose, scuffed, busted, and missing everything. But he has bending knees, and he's giving me the opportunity to do my favourite thing - track down others, and use bits off them to restore him.

2004 actually started with Christmas '03 when I got the Getter Dragon. He was, of course, followed by Liger, Poseidon, and six weeks or so of anguish waiting for a replacement backpack to the GX19 Liger. Then I had to get the GX06 Getter team to complete the set, then didn't a couple of new Eva's show up?, or was that the summer before? And I think Zambot 3 was in the mix somewhere as well. Plus a couple of charmingly thrashed mini's- Mazinger, and Gaiking thanks to Jryu. And how can I forget my latest acquisition, the Perfect Grade Strike Gundam? As much as I like the Zambot, I give the best toy prize to the Getter team (even though they were technically from '03's toys). And I guess I have to put the Strike into the '05 catagory, even though I bought it in '04, or I'd pick that as the best, but wait I got some other stuff too, didn't I?.... Jeez, Ed. This is a hard topic JWM

Hmmm, the best robo I obtained last year has to be the large Taekown V 90 that I swapped for a leg of umm... I don't know exactly... but this leg section was `ocean king' I believe from a 1987 bootleg and I'd happened to stumble across him/it under a pile of shi_ in an old moombangoo in the Nth of Seoul. I was inundated with calls from diehard Korean collectors because this was apparently a very rare bootleg find, but hey, It's only a lone piece of something I'm not really after...when I realized I could trade a big boxed Taekown V 90 for it, I gladly made the trade.
I'm tempted to send him (Taekwon V90) to Japan to auction off now because I can probably trade something along with $100? in order to get another one within Korea but before I send him off, I'm hoping the "Korean wave" thing will extend to animation so that the price goes waaaaay up first!
*** query while we're here... Hey, I'm thinking of parting with my large bootleg Gundam electric guntank that lights up, moves on its tracks and plays the death star theme from star wars- anyone have this or seen them for sale elsewhere? I saw a pic on RJ of it.

I guess I have spend a ton of money on toy in 2004.
I got my T-28 SG-01, Daimos DX Godaikin, Voltes V DX Godaikin, God Sigma DX Godaikin, Gardian DX Godaikin, Daltanias DX Godaikin, GodMarz DX Godaikin, Combattler V DX Godaikin, UFO Warrior Diapolon
I am very happy with my current collection now. Of course, I would like to add a few more DX Godaikin like Laserion, ALBEGAS VOLTRON II and Golion DX to my current collection. Then I can say pretty complete my collection and move onto something else.

Don't know if this counts, but the FAST-Pack set I bought breathed new life into the Yamato 1/48 Low-Visibility Valkyrie. Not sure what it is, but just the clunky over-powered look it has now is great. I still don't play with this toy much, but I had fun removing the armour covers and stuff. Then transforming it between modes with and without the FAST-packs. Mazinger Angel Aphrodai-A is also one of my faves in 2004. I don't know - she's such a simple design yet so very sexy with all that chrome. *sigh* On things I wish I'd gotten last year - a few more Robot Masters would've been cool. Starscream and Beast Convoy are on my desk at work keeping me company now. RMs are infinitely playable, affordable, and decently sized. I wish I'd gotten the first wave when I had the chance (kicks self). I wonder if I can still get a G1 Convoy and Megatron... ?

It was a blow out year as far as my wallet goes. But a lot of my acquisitions this year were doubles, repaints and or reissues of the same toys...
lemme see I've a lot to track and I don't remember all the GX numbers and the BT numbers so bear with me:
I started the year with the chrome Eva and then came black SOC Evas... then I got GX-02R, then the AmDriver crap, then SOC Zambot with the Ghostbusters car and BBTF Delorean diecasts, then two Aoshima Mazkaisers, another MMM, aile Strike G, a Maz GX01R original, a GX03 original, then another GX-01R second release, a Bandai 1/55 Valk with super packs, a Bandai 1/55 VF-1J, the three SOC angels with BTs Tracks, Meister, Hound, and Grimlock in between, and finally waiting for two angel Minervas, and a MMM Force Impulse, that should've shipped out in Dec.
G'damn that was a mouthful and I think I got most of em... Yep Bandai made a whopping out of me...

(Or at least prep school) in 2004. I'm still waiting on the MMM Force Impulse meself... and it's poppin up all over Ebay and other sites now, so hopefull it will be shipping soon GD, so hang in there! If you get yours first, let me know how it is! (Side note: I'm waiting on the MSIA Savior Gundam to arrive this week... and I'm debating whether or not to pick up vol. 1 of Seed Destiny)

In 2003, I bought Gobots for the first time in my life... I bought Turbo, Leader-1 and Night Ranger. After that, in 2004 I got Crasher and the Hasbro MP Optimus Prime. I also bought a bootleg all plastic SOC Mazinger Z. Well, those are all the robots I bought.

The later part of 2004 was when I realized that SOC's and alot of other anime based toys where out there. I started collecting immediately and now I have a pretty sizable collection. The problem is that I have nowhere to dsiplay them because we are currently renting a house and I am waiting until we buy a house and I have a theater room in which to dispaly everything. All my toys are still in the boxes they were shipped in. I found this site and all you guys and I'm not alone in my madness. I'm very happy and I check this site a couple of times a day just to see what's new. I also check CollectionDX which is invaluable. I must say it has been good.

I've said it before - it's not the size of the collection. It's that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you own a toy that most people around you have never heard of. I sound elitist that way but it's true. But yeah - I know the feeling of being cramped for space. I'm in an apartment myself so I need to pick and choose which SoCs go into the collection because there's no way all of them would be displayable in the rooms that I have.
