The show sucked the but the toys were actually pretty nice. I also remembered Silverhawks, Brave Starr, and a combining robot show that I think was American created called Orbots or somthing like that.
Ooh... Silverhawks, the Macross 7 of the 80's! It was the opposite of Dino-Riders: the show was great but the toys sucked big time. I don't think it would fly today though...

Yup just re-design them (like how He-Man was) and make them out of diecast or atleast the robotic parts and you would have a mix of Terminator and Thundercats.
This has only just been shown on UK TV - the launch was bought forward sooner than anyone expected, and I am yet to see an episode myself yet.
I believe that toys - from Bandai - will be following later this year.
Have to be careful when reworking classic themes though, because they easily become victims of shortsighted corporate `Hollywood' fools that mistake `shi_ for shinola' (The Thunderbirds movie is a perfect example
- You're probably also going to be pleased to know that, the Thunderbirds movie being such a success - AHEM! - Gerry Anderson has reacquired (or at least, is in the process of doing so) the rights, and if the new Captain Scarlet is a success thats next on the list for the Hypermarionation treatment!
Spectrum IS Green, after all...!

Hey I have those two.. plus the tank... I think I have one more somewhere.. i forget... but I regret now.. back when I was a kid.. the show was on a decline.. and they sold the toys at the flea market for $5 canadian!!! I wish I had money back then.. was barely into my teens!

Plus as someone else already stated they were like the Shogun Warriors to be re-released which they kinda have been. But I would like to add that I would love to see the 24" Jumbo's to return with modern design and sculpting.
Hey Chen did you see this ?? apparently it was a prototype.. never produced
Thanks alot Kid'! That would have been a great toy if they ever made it. All I remember from the show was that the robots were human sized most of the time but when they needed too they would get larger and then combine into that big robot. I guess there was to much competition at the time and there was no toys to tie into the show.

Hey Chen... they also had a clip of the intro to Orbots here.
