I've always been curious how much the retail price was for a Voltes or a Combattra when they were released in the US? I would also like to know how much a jumbo machinder and a Shogun Warrior cost originally? Anyone know?

Godaikin $40-$50, but $70-$80 for Tetsujin 28 depending onwhere you went. A Jumbo was roughly $15-20. By "Shogun" did you mean the 2-in1s, the basic 5", the vehicles, or the 3"?

I remember my Mom bought me the Dragun 5" and it costing around $6.00-7.00 She then lectured me on how "it better last" because it was "so expensive"! ;D

So roughly speaking, a Soul of Chogokin costs about the same price now as a chogokin did back then if you did a conversion?

Actually, it did, until I was about 18, then my toys were stolen during a move! Been replacing ever since. 20 years working on that part so far.

I remember doing laundry with my parents at a laundramat next to a Meryvn's in my old home town. Mervyn's still sold toys then. My brother and I would go to the toy section as our clothes dry and crave and plan out how we would get each one. Daltanias, God Mars, and Guardian was about $35.00, this was around 1983 or so. Voltes V was $50. Funny thing, while at Kimono My House back in 1995 or so (pre-Ebay) I had the chance to buy Voltes V Godaikin for $100 and opt for something else instead. Not even two years later I felt like kicking myself in the head when I got one on eBay for $700 shipped. Ah Fricken frack!

My mom was a Bandai sales rep on the side back then (I still have all the promo 1-sheets & catalogs). IIRC:
Mini Godaikins $4.99
ST Vavilos, ST Bioman, ST Laserion, ST Machineman, ST Dancougar $14.99-$19.99
Daidenjin, Daitetsujin 17 $19.99-$24.99
Abega, Daimos, Leopardon, Biomachine, Vavilos $29.99-$34.99 (Though finding a Leopardon was a b*tch!)
Goggle V, Gardian, Bioman, Machine Man, Daltanius, Sun Vulcan, Dynaman, DyJupiter, Laserion, Dancougar $39.99-$44.99
GodMarz, Godsigma, Voltes V, Combattra, GoLion $54.99-$69.99
Tetsujin 28 $69.99 -$79.99

The retail price sticker on my Godaikin Golion box originally read $99.99, but then it has another price sticker where it was marked down to $69.99.
