What happened to the Voltron comic
What killed it? What were the pros and cons of the book.
same with Robotech.

probably the market is oversaturated these days. I noticed any of the retro stuff that was big a few yrs back.. have mostly folded.

IIRC the Robotech comic was always a series of 5-parters and was never an ongoing run. I guess when they finished the last one they were expecting the franchise to take on a life of its own... we're May now... and I still don't see the new anime on store shelves so... we'll just have to wait and see. (btw, for those who didn't know, Harmony Gold was timing their "Prelude to Shadow Chronicles" 5-part comic series to end when the Shadow Chronicles anime was supposed to come out... that was 4 months ago.)
As for Voltron, I heard the comic just wasn't selling enough copies for the small publisher to keep publishing... (mind you, this is not like the Dreamwave fiasco who had a hit comic; but the company ran itself into the ground through bad management). I actually missed Voltron on first run so I grabbed the first TPB edition. It was... alright. I didn't like the mysticism involved (I guess they were mixing in Golion's mythos into Voltron or something like that). I was willing to give Volume 2 a try (because unlike most fans, I actually like Vehicle Voltron better than Lion-Force Voltron) but they didn't even bother printing the TPB in colour!!! I was like, "WTF kinda lazy-@$$ publishing is this?" and decided to pass on it. Shortly afterwards the regular comics stopped coming out.

thats the thing about TPB. If you're dealing with Marvel, DC, Darkhorse or Image (even thats a iffy). You may not qet a TPB, or any kind of reprinting.
If you really love the comic.. don't wait.. support the smaller companies.
