I just got a good deal on the the Ultraman Nexus machines and I'm totally surprised by them. These are great toys. I had never seen or heard of them but I ran across all five of the Nexus set on Yahoo Japan for $23 and thought they looked cool so I had a buddy pick them up for me. The funny thing is that I didn't even know these were Ultraman ships until I got them in the mail. It's been kind of a revelation to me because I've never had any interest in anything Ultraman.
So I'm wondering if anyone has some of the the other series machine sets and are they as cool as the Nexus ships? So far I've seen a couple of the Max Dash and some of the Moebius, both of which look like a lot of fun.

I was thinking of maybe putting up some pics for anyone who is unfamiliar with these? Yes, no?

I'd be interested to see them I have few Ultraman figures, mainly vinyls, but I've not seen much of the machine sets.

I have the diecast Jet Vtol. The nice thing about it is that it matches almost perfectly with the GD series chogokin Ultraman line. Can't remember what the maker is though. Currently in storage. I will snap some pics if I can dig it up during the move. And yes, pics of yours would be nice!

Note that all of these photos tied for 1st place in the "how not to take a successful photo" contest. I just took these right here at my computer area which exposed them to both tungsten and fluorescent light. Bad combo. So I had to doctor them quite a bit because I didn't want to take the shots again. I thought I got five of them, but I guess I got four. Offhand I'm not sure if there is another ship of not. It seems that the last white and red ship may have been released posthumously because the two gattais in the instructions only requre the first three ships. Boxes Individual ships "official" tank gattai "official" spaceship gattai random stuff I threw together for this shoot The toys themselves are all plastic, mostly ABS. A lot of fun and decent engineering. Sturdiness is maybe about the same as your average current Transformer. If you decide to pick these up, don't pay more than $10 USD per ship. These are great toys, but they are small and not $20 or $30 dollar toys like a lot of sellers are asking for them.

Those are pretty sweet! Sorry to hear about the lack of diecast though. Still would look nice with my other Ultraman stuff. So where did you find them for a good price? They ask too much when I have seen them. Thanks for posting pics!

They ask too much when I have seen them. Thanks for posting pics! No problem! Wasn't sure if anyone would be very interested. But yeah, no diecast. These are straight up toys. I found them on Yahoo Japan randomly. BUT, the easiest way to find them on Yahoo Japan is to go to Zinc Panic and do a search for Ultraman Nexus, then copy and paste the "nihongo" into the Yahoo Japan auction search window. You could also search them out in www.rinkya.com, but then you might have to look through a lot of Ultraman listings.
