I've been looking around and trying to find any Super Robot Wars games that I could actually play now that I can. However, any that I may find are usually in Japanese and I can't understand what I'm doing or whats going on. They look neat though. Wasn't there a Super Robot Wars game released for the GBA here? If so, what was it called? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also if anyone knows where I can find some games with translation patches, I would appreciate it. ^_^ If it's not cool to ask for such things here, then my bad. I dunno where else to ask though.

I think Boyet is referring to the SRW OG(Original Generation) GBA game. Supposedly the next (and maybe last?) SRW game for the PS2 will be the SRW OG game. There will be an English version port over of this game since Banpresto owns the rights to all of the OG characters. Mazinger and Combattler and the rest WON"T be in the game though. I think Banpresto did this intentionally to try to "test the waters" in the US and introduce the SRW game(I think they have to pay additional royalties to the respective properties if they have to port characters like Mazinger and Combattler to the US, which means more money goes into the cost and there is the risk the game won't sell well in the US market, so Banpresto is playing it safe). If it sells well then maybe they might release the other titles. From what I've read on game boards the SRW OG for the PS2 will be an "upgrade" of the GBA version, with improved graphics and sounds but will have the same story. There're demos and "trailers" of the upcoming PS2 SRW OG over at youtube. Gold

Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation and OG2 have been released for the GBA in North America by Atlus. Both are excellent games, and you should be able to find them at video game shops up without too much difficulty.
The Original Generation games do NOT feature the usual collection of anime super robots, so you won't be able to use Mazinger/Evangelion/GGG/etc. to kick mechabutt. The other SRW games can't be brought to the NA market for licensing reasons; there are dozens of companies that hold licenses to the various characters in the US, and securing all those rights would be prohibitively expensive and time-consuming. At first, the lack of stuff like the Nagai characters made me leery of the OG series, but it turns out the original storyline and characters are really good anyway. Definitely look for them, you won't be disappointed. I'm almost to the end of OG2, and I'm so hooked it's not even funny.
They're both excellent games. The first has two separate storylines, each focusing on one main character and his respective squadron, while the second looks at Team SRW as a whole, and there are certain points where the team splits off for different missions and you can choose which one to play out. The logistics are definitely much improved in OG2, as are the battle animations, which are SO COMPLETELY ASSKICKING.
Banpresto is releasing SRT: Original Generations for the PS2 in Japan soon. It's a re-release of OG1 and 2 with further improvements to gameplay and animation, with new storyline elements and characters/mecha thrown into the mix. I can only hope that Atlus picks this up for the US, because I am completely in love with this series.

my only problem right now is that i can't be the r-gun rivale in the 32 or 33 episode/level/mission thing. i'd hate to reveal any spoilers for the people that have yet to reach that level but its the one with the instead of actual numbers until u cut it down to 99999. but yeah i totally love og1 and i picked up og2 although i haven't beaten 1 yet because i know atlus games have a funny habit of dissappearing and never being seen again

otherway use the emulators for pc ^_^ Yup, there ya go. ;D That's the only way I've been able to see and play them. I've asked around game stores here, but no one has a clue. I found "Super Robot Taisen" or something like that for GBA that way, but its all in Japanese. Can't find anything to translate it or even a translated version. I tried playing it, but you can only do so much without understanding whats going on.

There's a translated version of Super Robot Wars III for the SNES floating around in emulator web sites. Need Super NES emulator, obviously.
Maybe the english Super Robot Wars Original Generation rom is already out, too... Haven't been into emulator since I got my PS2 2 years ago.
