I realize this website is dedicated to Japanese robots and such... I hope I haven't made a "mistake" posting this here. After all, our favorite super-robots have inspired many other robot shows. It seems Taekwon V celebrates its 30th anniversary... taekwonvonline.com/zozo-Magengar

You're welcome, Tsuruji.
I'd seen posts and web stuff about Taekwon V, and had always been curious to see anything of that series. I had recently watched some YouTube vids, and I like how the robot uses the tae kwon do martial art to beat its opponents. Cool!
...but then I shy away from the YouTube video archive collections of Taekwon V clips, because of the many negative and ignorant comments posted there, about this robot series--- especially from folks around here in the US.
Sometimes I joke about Taekwon V. But still, this is one of Korea's finest animations to this day. Some folks say Taekwon's creator was inspired by the Mazinger series; I dunno... All I know is that Everyone has a robot Hero to their liking; something to tap into the Inner Child who is still amazed at all those fun robot adventures.
That's the stuff that makes fine forums such as RJ one big happy family. *^__^*

This figure will be out at the end of the month, AUG '07. It is vinyl and will be 18 inches tall. It looks really cool and I will post pics of it in the near future.

I'm planning on visiting Korea in a few months. I only heard about Taekwon V from this report about his 30th anniversary. I'll definitely try to pick up one of these vinyls while I'm there. ^^ www.korea.net/News/News/NewsView.asp?serial_no=20070105006Despite all the politics I think he's a pretty cool kick-ass robot in his own right and a unique part of Korean culture.

Taekwon V is indeed a cool robot in his own right... he's the only robot I've seen and heard of that actually fights as a martial artist (Taekwon Do). And he's an icon in Korean anime culture, too. Just like Inframan made his own mark in China, as well. I'd love to have him in my collection of classic super-robots. zozo-Magengar

Yes, you basically have to live here in Korea to purchase these items. The guy who owns (ToyMaru) is a friend of mine and He would like to ship internationally but the for shipping cost is high. Also, you have to know someone here in Korea in order to make the purchase. The Koreans use their Korean National numbers i.e. Social Security Numbers for everything. He goes to Japan once a month to get the most current items. Getting back to Teakwon V, I pick mine up on Saturday and will take pics as soon as I get it.

In order for you to get one from him you have to have a Korean bank account or just a regular credit card. He, as all Korean businesses do, prefers cash. The robot will cost about 75,000 won which equates to about $80.00 dollars. He stands about 16 inches high. I had an opportunity to score one last year, an older version, but I missed purchasing it by 30 seconds. An older gentleman had walked into the store before me and grabbed it out of the window as I was walking in the door. That was a real bummer, because I noticed it sitting in the window as I was driving by the store. I'm gald that they are making an updated version of this robot. The colors are more vibrant and the quality is much improved.

I could have sworn I posted a message on a thread just like this one before...
Anyway, the Taekwon figure looks really nice. I'm sure I could put some joints in the legs too, to make it fully poseable. All I need to do is find one at a reasonable price.

If my fianc'e had her way, this monster would be in our house. She loves Taekwon V. Granted, she is Korean and the whole country(South Korea) loves him as well.
