Umm did you guys hear about this? The design isn't as cool as the previous incarnation but its not a bad look though. - otakuscience.sharper.nl/wordpress/?p=118To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s Giant robo, a new TV series is about to be released featuring an all new battle of the giant robots. After the manga, a live action show and an anime OVA, it’s now the time for GR to get an anime series dedicated to it. Well the first ep is expected to be released 19-01-2007, so it wont be long now. Check out the official site Official site gr-anime.com/English version gr-anime.com/english/about_introduction.html

Looks pretty cool. I like the new robot designs. They have that chuncky feel to them. Who knows, maybe Max or CMS will make a cool figure for this one.

Thanks for the link, Kidchuckle! I was gonna repost it as an actual link here, but the copy/paste into the download manager is a better idea... ...that file is "supposed" to play in Realplayer. But it may be possible to open it in some sort of video-editing program that can convert it to either avi or mpeg. I'll try this and see what happens. zozo-Magengar ok for those who can't wait. here's a link to the raw version of the first episode (no subs) rtsp://wmt01.sg-tv.jp/sg-tv/gr-01.wmv instructions copy and paste the link into a download manager like flashpoint. save, play and enjoy

I can hardly wait! The GR2 (aka "Torozon" in the Johnny Sokko series) is my favorite GR enemy mecha... ...I'd like to see him in action for this new series! zozo-Magengar

hmm... How am I supposed to accept Giant Robo as a Super-Robot if he's been redesigned with "real robot" proportions? It just doesn't have the charm of the OVA version with the big shoulders and big feet... I'll probably download the first few episodes and watch anyway but...

I didn't realize you needed a liscence and I've been trying to find something that will allow it to be cracked. if I find anything I'll post my findings.

I tried that link with my d/L manager... ...couldn't get it to d/L.
I then tried to click that link in my browser... ...Realplayer opened up, and sez it couldn't "create a temp file to load the video"(?).
Sometimes, those type of files require a license to open in a mediaplayer.

...However, I did find This: -the trouble is, not enough footage to highlight Giant Robo in action. Great cg graphics, though! Here's a Better trailer... with a website link at the end (to watch the sneak-peak of the first episode?) zozo-Magengar

Try it and see if you like it. When you get a chance, check out the Johnny Sokko tv series, too- to see Giant Robo in live-action "kaiju" form. It's a treat! zozo-Magengar hmm... Look at this : I first thought that it was the Pilot Ace's figures, but in fact it seems that these are new figures (17cm tall, with die cast, and articulated). ;D Edit : i've tried to buy one, but the shop only ship in japan... Anyone here knows where or how to get one shipped internationnally ??
