Edit: How do you guys feel about doing TOTY voting here? I'm wondering if there will be a TOTY posted this year over at ToyboxDX since last year didn't work out so well where many people couldn't log on/vote, and whatever the results were they never got posted. It seems the TOTY is no longer directly in the hands of ToyboxDX admin (if I remember correctly), and I'm not sure if asking about it on the DX board is a good idea since "TOTY" seems to bring about unfriendly results quite often in the discussion.
So anyway, we can have another vote here like last year, but what do you guys think about this? Is this hi-jacking the whole TOTY thing from its original place of origin? Frankly I just want it to happen, and I don't really care where it is, or whether there is a TOTY vote on ToyboxDX and here, or whatever. But I don't want anyone to feel like we're trying to steal the show...
Oh, and one last thing. Who wants what to be in the vote? ;D

imho, we should continue with the RJ TOTY. Not everyone here is a member over at TBDX; therefore can't vote for their faves.

Good idea, but I'd contact the TBDX staff first just so that we're all friendly.

Let us discuss....then if there is a need we'll post a formal poll.
For now..... My vote will edge towards MP Megatron, MP Skywarp.

my vote goes to CM's Ingram's... the only gokin i got this year that made me buy 3 of the same toy despite the price... that speaks a lot.
it's the year of Patlabor also with other companies (WAVE WHAM, Revoltech) jumping in the mix, so it'd be interesting to see how CM's version stacks up....

We'll keep it on the low..... LOWJACKING 10-4 The Ingrams (1&3) are certainly high contenders for me. This might be a surprising entry to some, but this was another one of my faves from this year. CM's Sunrise Baangaan. Not the limited guy, the smaller cheaper dude. It's an awesome figure with a great sculpt and excellent articulation. Um, just thought.. was this from this year??? Oy, I have no sense of time anymore.

for me it is Ideon! In 2nd fewture getter3 (if i am correct it came out this year)! And 3rd but not least irongear! All three of those would be BIG contenders for sure, but Fewture Getter 3 came out right at the tail end of last year and made it onto the 2006 vote.

Ok, I forgot that last year we had decided to call our poll the RJAs (thanks to Chen's suggestion). So I got that fixed in the thread name.
There's a lot of stuff that will be coming out here shortly that will certainly be contenders such as Bikanfu and possibly Reideen if he makes it in time.
MPC Megatron should be in here. I'm not sure what exactly has been released of late in the Macross area of things?

For the Macross area, the SV-51 Gamma Ivanov version from Macross Zero was just released a couple months ago, with the Nora version hot on its tail in December (HLJ Schedule).
I think that SOC GX-36 Ideon and GX-38 Irongear should be included in this year TOTY list. These bots are classic design combined with modern engineering that resulted in one of the best toys I've ever seen (don't have Irongear yet, but all the reviews I've read are positive, mentioning that the toy was one of the most fun toy in a while).

Sure we should have one in here. I wouldn't count on the one at ToyboxDX. I still have yet find out the results of last years.

I agree. It really sucks that after all the voting hype was built up, TBDX allowed everything to go spiraling down in flames. I think it was even disrespectful. After all those people that took time to vote (including myself), no winner was ever officially announced!!! That clearly SUCKS!
So, please go ahead and implement it - The R-J TOTY award!!!

Yeah. While I respect the guys there to put up the voting every year and do all the setup work for nothing in return, if they don't think they can follow through. They could have just stop doing it for the year, rather than gathering all the votes and never follow through. Not even a short list of the results. I don't need no fancy pie charts and lengthy paragraphs and photo shoot if the guys don't have the time to do those.

I have to agree that TOTY was a disappointment last year, but I must also come to the defense of TBDX. They were not in control of the process, so they cannot be held accountable for the dropped ball here. And KINGJOE is the best new toy on my shelf! Nothing else compares. I know that some other robot, that I have no idea what it is, will win, but I can dream.
