Inwards contacted me and gave me his best wishes to go ahead with voting. Apparently he's been towing the rope all these years and making TOTY happen, and it sounds like TBDX isn't all that interested in TOTY anyway, which is probably why it was a "waist joint" production last year. So we'll keep the tradition alive here with the RJAs, and unless we can agree on a better way of doing it, I thought we would just stick with the three vote point system, where your first vote is worth 2 pts, second vote is worth 1.5 pts, and third is worth 1 pt. I thought this seemed to work out ok, and it was fun to be able to vote for more than one robot.
If anyone wants to submit a short essay concerning their favorite robot and why (what we've seen in the past TOTYs) feel free. Of course the RJAs are at least a couple of months away..

If the Fewture Mazinger 1969 does come out in November, I have a feeling it will be on the top of my TOTY list along with GoShogun, Ideon and Iron Gear.

my picks from different toy companies.
SOC : Ideon is #1 for now. I havent ordered God mars or bai kan fu yet.
Aoshima : Damaged Getter version may be the winner there.
CMS : as cool as the Patlabors are I like the Griffin the most.
Fewture : still waiting on Boss Borot and Doublas to arrive. My choice depends on if Mazinger and G Mazinger sell in December .
Yamato : toss up, yf-19 w/booster or SV-51
Ohtsuka kikaku: Mazinger w/Scrander. (until Great mazinger arrives)

Thanks for keeping the annual awards alive Xiombarg. I definitely think it's a tradition worth maintaining.
It seems each year trumps the year before with numerous outstanding candidates.
MP Megatron's gotta be really high on my list, but I have a gut feeling I'm going to be voting for Baikanfu. Not only does it look incredible, but it's also the first major release of this character since the original from 1986. The SOC one looks so far superior to the original, it's not even a contest.
Then there's the simple classics like Goshogun, that could win with sheer elegance.
It's gonna be a good one.

I think your right that Baikanfu will probably be the big one to beat this year.
