Well, here's a Babblefish translation anyway: "DX superalloy 創 saint combination アクエリオンリニューアル package Maker: a BANDAI size:-detailed:-launching day: 2008 year last ten days of March launching plans A/the fixed price: 20,790 yen the selling price: 18,711 yen c2004 river woods Masaharu/サテラウト/Project AQUARION ※ list price are a consumption price including tax. "DX superalloy 創 saint combination アクエリオン" is release with a/the リニューアル package! ! The superalloy model of the ultimate that enabled 3 pattern transformation combination of the vector machines of 3 machine is born here! Faithful complete combination & complete reappearance are materialized to the base setting of the entire surface cooperation/instructions of river woods Mr./ Ms. Masaharu by using the most many parts number, on superalloy history! ! 《主語なし》It is the アクエリオン item of the ultimate! !" I'm not sure, but I think it might be saying it's been re-done with new specifications and parts? If it's just a re-release, Bandai needs to rethink this, but I don't think it is. If they are "fixing" it, that's great, but it's also admitting that it was poorly designed to begin with. Not to mention that it was really expensive and now we have to buy it again for a working version? Hmm..

I just came across the offer from HLJ for this "new" version for $184. still, would like to know what exactly is different with this version... as you pointed out xiombarg, is that thing now able to stand on its own?! ...by using the most many parts number, on superalloy history....? - looks like it will at least set a record in production parts, but if that helps making it stand better? I check if I can find a review on this somewhere. I'm tempted but I want more information first.

I would like to know too. If they do put out a fixed version with stronger joints, I would like to get it. The newer promo pics posted on toysdaily don't show a stand, but that doesn't mean anything neccessarily.

I always take promo pictures with a grain of salt these pictures always look good thanks to photoshop or whatever a pro photographer is using these days. anyways, did not really find anything else on the new version, but have to admit that I did not really search far and wide. and if I follow reason there is no budget for this purchase either (as I just ordered the dmz-05... )

Quite frankly I really can not see how they can "improve" on it because of its design. Unless, it would involve some part swapping or removal to make it less "top-heavy"/ more stable. And of course tighter joints...beyond those I just do know

The joints were the biggest problem with Aquarion. Even with the balance not being optimal it was the weak/cheap joints in the ankles and thigh/hip areas that kept it from being able to stand. Even where there were ratcheted joints they weren't strong enough ratchets.
Another BIG problem was the connection point where the torso half connected into the waist on the Alpha form. On my figure it's a weak connection and the whole top half almost has to balance on top without it coming disconnected.
One thing I noticed was that the Delta form works fairly well if you leave off the back pack part, and it still looks good too.
