Hey y'all Question-- Would you enjoy seeing a video of robots on a turnstyle (like a record playing) ? I'm considering getting a video and white backdrop....then loading it to youtube and robot-japan.com . Let me know . Also, I'm taking recommendations on digital video recorders. I'm considering image stabilization . Ed

I would enjoy that very much. The video can be used as visual archive of individual robots.

I think it would be great!
As far as video cameras go, almost all mid/high have good image stabilization these days. It's amazing what you can buy for about $500 these days.. but really I'm not up to date on what the latest hot models are. Also, it's worth noting who the lense designer is. Some brands of cameras will boast their lense is made or designed by a specific person or company that is well known for making quality lenses.

Count my OK in!
I like that idea, displaying figures on a turntable.
...just watch out that some little kid doesn't sneak up and kick the turntable into high-speed ala "Gremlins". Lordie knows the last thing we need now is a splattered bloody gokin drippin down the wall. ;D

Yep. Somethin like that.
Your video concept is a great idea for ways to display figures and toys. The video medium makes for a cool visual aid for posting on your websites; and video clips can fit easy inside a post like a youtube video.
As far as the type of camera to use, one with an image stabilizer would be best... ya just never know what them gokins might do when your back is turned. ;D

Yeah... that would be a neat feature here at RJ's website... ...youtube-type video displays. A "Video-display Of The Month" would be a nice feature so members can showcase their hauls! The video need not be long nor sophisticated, but at least of decent visual quality. Voice narration can be an option (if the video is to contain sound... but that would also yield a larger file-size that may take up space in the server)- sorta like a "tour-guide" through a member's collection, with a simple run-down of the figure by character name and manufacturer. Later on, this can also serve as a template for video 'for-sale' posts when someone wants to sell/trade an item here at RJ. Ed, you've inspired me to try this idea for a Toyopsy showcase! ;D zozo-Magengar

Go shoot away Magengar!
Now I need to find a good i.s. (image stabilization)video recorder. ....... I see that we have HD recorders, a bit pricey, that could be used for the family.
Someone let me know what offers the most bang for the buck. So far I've seen a JVC model around $700 (ouch) and a Cannon for a similar price. All this is to get digital with I.S.

hmm if you can't find a stabilizer. I believe After Effects by adobe.. has a filter or something to stabilize film. (i remember they had just got that feature when I finished school.. way back 7 yrs ago)
